The present invention aims at providing an environment in which user's convenience can be enhanced remarkably by causing functions provided to a mobile terminal and a video recording device to cooperate closely with each other such that video recording and playback can be carried out flexibly in a variety of ways unlike the prior art and also a user can enjoy more comfortably digital television broadcastings containing the terrestrial digital broadcasting.A mobile terminal 1 that can receive digital television broadcasting and a video recording device 3 are connected via a communication network 2, and receiving channel information and a video recording start command are transmitted from the mobile terminal 1 to the video recording device 3. The video recording device 3 acquires program information by an electronic program guide (EPG) and performs the video recording of the program. Also, a save command of inhibiting an erasure of the video-recorded program can be transmitted to the video recording device 3 equipped with a video server function from the mobile terminal 1. The program data played by the video recording device 3 can also be played on the mobile terminal 1.
Abstract:
An object is to provide a semiconductor memory device which can dynamically change the number of memory cells used as by-pass capacitors. In each memory block, one selector signal line is provided in parallel to one word line. In a pair of the word line and the selector signal line adjacent to each other, states are maintained opposite to each other. Further, in a memory block, one branch of a supply line is provided in parallel to one bit line. In each of the memory cells, a first transistor connects a capacitor to the bit line in accordance with the state of the word line. Furthermore, a second transistor connects the same capacitor to the branch of the supply line in accordance with the state of the selector signal line. In the memory cells aligned in a row direction, gates of the first transistors are connected to the same word line, and gates of the second transistors are connected to the same selector signal line.

The plasma display device has the following structure: a panel having a plurality of discharge cells; an electrode-dedicated power supply for generating voltage to be applied to any one of the electrodes disposed on the panel; a driving-waveform generator that has a switching element for outputting voltage of the electrode-dedicated power supply so as to generate a waveform of driving voltage for driving the electrodes; a switch controller for controlling the switching element; a controller-dedicated power supply for supplying the switch controller with electric power; and an auxiliary power supply that generates a voltage lower than that of the controller-dedicated power supply by reducing voltage of the electrode-dedicated power supply so as to supply the switch controller with electric power.

A portable wireless apparatus has an antenna capable of resonating in frequency bands of various communication systems. The portable wireless apparatus comprises an upper case 5; a lower case 4 pivotably connected to the upper case 5; a circuit board 1 formed with wireless circuits 14 to 18 and a grounded planar conductor electrically connected to one ends of the wireless circuits 14 to 18; a planar conductor 2 provided in the upper case 5 and having a feed section electrically connected to the other ends of the wireless circuits 14 to 18; and a conductive element 3 provided in the upper case 5 and spaced from the planar conductor 2, the conductive element 3 having a length different from the length of the planar conductor 2 wherein the planar conductor 2 and the grounded planar conductor function as a dipole antenna, and the conductive element 3 functions as a parasitic element electromagnetically coupled with the dipole antenna.

A loudspeaker used mainly for mobile communication equipment such as a mobile telephone and having two loudspeaker parts provided in one frame is provided. In the loudspeaker, a yoke has a groove portion and a second voice coil disposed in this groove portion drives a second diaphragm. Since the groove portion functioning as a magnetic gap is formed by processing the yoke, variation in the magnetic gap, which conventionally occurred at the time of incorporation, is eliminated and accuracy is improved, thus stabilizing the sound pressure frequency property.

Methods and apparatus for reducing radiated field feedback in radio frequency (RF) transmitters. An exemplary RF transmitter includes a power amplifier (PA) and a low-field oscillator (LFO) that are co-located, either on a common module or integrated in the same integrated circuit chip. By using an LFO for the transmitter's local oscillator, radiated field feedback from the PA to the LFO is substantially reduced. In addition to, or instead of using an LFO to reduce radiated field feedback, the LFO or a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) may be configured to operate at either a harmonic or a non-integer multiple of the transmitter's output signal frequency. Using an LFO or VCO and/or operating the oscillator at a harmonic or a non-integer multiple of the radio system output signal frequency reduces the degree by which electromagnetic fields generated by the radio system's PA and antenna interfere with electromagnetic fields generated by the LFO or VCO, thereby allowing the LFO or VCO to be co-located with or integrated in the same integrated circuit chip as the radio system's PA.

A communication relay apparatus wherein the error rate characteristic of a relay destination is improved to raise the throughput, while reducing the given interference power to prevent the reduction of the throughput of the whole communication system. In the apparatus, a signal addressed to a base station is received (ST1010), and a decoding process and other processes are performed (ST1020). A bit error determination is performed (ST1030), and if there is no bit error, a reproduction/relay process (ST1050) is performed. If there is any bit error, a threshold-based determination of reception quality is performed for each of subcarriers (ST1120-1130). If the reception quality is greater than a threshold value, the corresponding subcarrier is outputted (ST1140); otherwise, the corresponding subcarrier is not relayed (ST1150). A signal, which has been subjected to either process, is transmitted (ST1060).

To prevent the local heating of an electronic apparatus chassis, there is provided a push button switch (10), which comprises a substrate (11) having a first contacting part (11a) and a second contacting part (11b) operable to be brought into electrical conduction with the first contacting part (11a), and a flexible electrically insulating sheet (13) covering the substrate (11) and having a click portion (13a) on the inside of which the first and second contacting parts are disposed to be brought into and out of electrical conduction therebetween in response to depression of the click portion. The electrically insulating sheet (13) includes a heat conducting layer (14) extending along the substrate (11).

On a first region that is a part of one main face of a semiconductor substrate 1, a first semiconductor laser structure 10 is formed so as to have a first lower cladding layer 3, a first active layer 4 with a first quantum well structure and first upper cladding layers 5, 7, which are layered in this order from the semiconductor substrate side, thereby forming a first resonator. On a second region that is different from the first region, a second semiconductor laser structure 20 is formed so as to have a second lower cladding layer 13, a second active layer 14 with a second quantum well structure and a second upper cladding layer 15, 17, which are layered in this order, thereby forming a second resonator. End face coating films 31, 32 are formed on facets of the first and the second resonators, and a nitrogen-containing layer 30 is formed between the facets of the first and the second resonators and the facet coating film. In the semiconductor laser device provided with a high-output dual-wavelength lasers that are formed monolithically, the decrease of the COD level during the high-output operation of the laser can be suppressed.

An information recording medium of the present invention includes N information layers on a substrate (1), where N is an integer of 2 or more. Information is recorded/reproduced by irradiating each of the information layers (11, 12) with a laser beam (4). When the N information layers are referred to as a first information layer to an N-th information layer sequentially from the opposite side to a laser beam incident side, the L-th information layer included in the N information layers includes at least a recording layer (135) capable of undergoing a phase change through laser beam irradiation, a reflective layer (132), and a transmittance adjusting layer (131) in this order from the laser beam incident side, where L is an integer satisfying 2≦L≦N. The transmittance adjusting layer (131) contains Nb, oxygen (O), and at least one element M selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, Y, Cr, Zn, Ga, Co, Bi, In, Ta, and Ce. In the transmittance adjusting layer (131), the content of Nb is at least 2.9 atom %.
