Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and system for generating a cover page for a fax job. The method comprises the steps of sending a fax job with cover page information to a DID for fax generation and transmittal. The fax job and cover page are suitably separated into two separate jobs prior to submission to the DID. The fax job is then preferably sent to the raster image processor of the DID before the cover page job so that when the cover page job is generated, the number of generated pages has already been determined. After bitmap images are created of both the fax job and cover page job, the fax job and cover page job are suitably swapped and combined into one job such that the cover page job bitmaps precede the fax job bitmaps. After combining the two jobs, the single fax job is suitably sent to a recipient.
Abstract:
A method is proposed for automatically updating and maintaining contact information for various contacts stored in a contact database without requiring an individual to manually update their contacts by using an automated reply process for the maintaining of contact information, as well as only requiring one individual to be a member of the service. Updating of the contacts with the automated reply process installed is more frequent.
Abstract:
This invention provides a first communication apparatus, which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and can describe different contents image header information each including a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like in image data having a predetermined number of pixels upon sending the image data to a plurality of destinations, and a communication method. This invention also provides a second communication apparatus which makes a facsimile communication via a packet communication network and has a first mode in which image header information such as a date, time, source information, destination information, and the like can be described in image data having a predetermined number of pixels and can send the image data, and a second mode in which image data having one of various resolutions and an indefinite number of pixels can be sent.
Abstract:
An interface for facilitating facsimile transmission via a wireless communications device operatively connected to a wireless communications network, including: a modem suitable for being communicatively coupled to a facsimile machine; a controller coupled to the modem; and, a memory operatively coupled to the controller. The interface includes code to cause the modem to transmit a retrain request to the facsimile machine upon expiration of a given temporal period. The interface includes a circuit for selectively generating a ring signal corresponding to a plain old telephone service ring signal. The interface includes a circuit for selectively generating a hold signal corresponding to a plain old telephone service hold signal. And, the circuit includes code to cause the modem to transmit data indicative of white lines to the facsimile machine upon expiration of a given temporal period.
Abstract:
With a digital camera 100, a photographed image 31 is displayed on a liquid crystal display and the user selects a desired image and specifies print specifications of the number of print sheets, a print paper size, a print color mode, etc., then print image data is prepared. The prepared print image, data is transmitted from the digital camera 100 to a color printer of an output unit. An image is printed at the color printer in accordance with the print image data.
Abstract:
The present invention manages a messaging network having messaging platforms interconnecting through a switched backbone such as the Internet. The master platform monitors each messaging platform on the messaging network and administers the addition, deletion, and updating of messaging platforms by modifying a master global routing table in the event the master platform encounters changes to the status of the messaging platforms. In the event that the master global routing table is updated, the global routing table held at each messaging platform is also updated, ensuring version consistency between said master global routing table and each of the global routing tables. This enables the master platform and each messaging platform to determine the operational status of another messaging platform. The present invention may also provide a cost tracking scheme when delivering messages between messaging platforms that are owned by different entities. This avoids use agreements between messaging platform owners and owners of networks which are connected to the messaging platforms. The cost for each network message delivery is measured in tokens. The present invention may also include a post office function that enables a master platform to receive and store a status message destined for a messaging platform which does not have an active connection to the messaging network or is in a non-operational state. The present invention may also include an information delivery service that delivers a message from at least one source outside of the messaging network to a subscriber via the subscriber's messaging platform regardless of whether the messaging platform has a dedicated or dial-up connection.
Abstract:
A photographing system includes an image acquisition device for acquiring an image data, an image data provision device for providing the image data, an interface connectable to an external display apparatus, and a controller for controlling the external display apparatus. When the interface is connected to the external display apparatus, the controller is capable of controlling the external display apparatus. Additionally, the image data provision device provides the acquired image data to the external display apparatus through the interface.
Abstract:
A method for a computer system includes receiving a facsimile transmission from a user, wherein the facsimile transmission includes a digitized representation of a document transmitted using a facsimile transmission format, processing the digitized representation of the document to determine a destination e-mail address, reformatting at least a portion of the digitized representation of the document into an e-mail attachment format, determining advertisement data associated with the facsimile transmission, and forming an e-mail message addressed to the destination e-mail address, wherein the e-mail message includes a body portion and an attachment portion, wherein the body portion includes the advertisement data, and wherein the attachment portion includes the portion of the digitized representation of the document in the e-mail attachment format.
Abstract:
Systems and methods consistent with embodiments of the present invention provide a method for the direct printing of images from digital imaging devices. In some embodiments, an image is received from a digital imaging device and sent to a computer for processing. In some embodiments, after the computer has completed the processing of the image, the processed image is sent to a printer where it is printed. In some embodiments, the image may be received by a printer from a digital imaging device connected to the printer and then forwarded to a computer for processing. In some embodiments, the digital imaging device may be a PictBridge enabled device. In some embodiments, a printer may receive images from a PictBridge enabled device connected to it, have the images processed remotely by a computer accessible from the printer, receive the processed image from the computer and then print the processed image.
Abstract:
A printing system is provided having a receiving arrangement for receiving a supply of single width roll media, a transport mechanism for transporting the roll media from the media supply along a transport path, a pair of printheads arranged on the transport path downstream of the media supply receiving arrangement so that the printheads oppose one another with the transport path therebetween, the printheads being configured to perform double-sided printing on the transported roll media, and a slitter arranged on the transport path downstream of the printheads. The slitter is configured to separate the printed single width roll media into sheets of different widths.
