Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of associating first data identifying a first party with second data to allow future recognition of the first party, including the steps of: conducting a telephone call with the first party; storing second data derived from the telephone call with the first party, the second data being different to the first data and characterizing a feature of the first party to allow future recognition of the first party; and associating the first data with the second data.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving, at a device, an indication corresponding to available transmission resources of a client device for establishing a first connection between the client device and a network, determining, at the device, allowable transmission resources for the first connection based at least partially on a difference between the indication corresponding to the available transmission resources of the client device and resources to be used by the client device for a second connection between the client device and the network, wherein determining the allowable transmission resources occurs before the second connection is requested, and providing, from the device, a response indicating the allowable transmission resources for the first connection before the second connection is requested.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing a plurality of options to a mobile telephone user based upon the user's prior activities. The present invention includes an “action input,” the actuation of which results in a menu of previously performed activities by the user. For example, the menu can display activities that frequently occur at the same time each day. The device software can automatically update and arrange the respective options based upon the user's activities.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes at least one memory including computer program code and at least one processor. The at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to receive a message containing no media content, the message indicating one or more supported media types by a group, cross-check the indicated supported media types with usable media types in the group, based on the cross-check, determine whether at least one of the indicated supported media types is found in the usable media types in the group and, based on the determination, send the message without modifying the indicated supported media types if all of the indicated supported media types are determined to be usable media types.
Abstract:
A method of reproducing at least two digital video sequences. The method includes multiplexing a first digital video sequence with a second digital video sequence, pictures of the second digital video sequence are included in advance in a video stream and are associated with timing information such that a receiver will not decode and reproduce the pictures of the second digital video sequence. The method includes composing the at least two digital video sequences into the video stream in correspondence with a result of the multiplexing and subsequently including a sequence of dummy timing pictures into the video stream. The dummy timing pictures are inter-predicted and are coded by omitting any prediction error data.
Abstract:
A system, method and computer program product are provided for delivering media content. The system includes at least one recipient that may be associated with at least one recipient rule. The system also includes a sending entity capable of transmitting a multimedia message addressed to the recipients. The sending entity can also specify delivery rules in the message. In this regard, the multimedia message includes media content. The system further includes a network entity capable of receiving the multimedia message and identifying any recipient rules, sending entity rules and/or network rules associated with the multimedia message. The network entity can then deliver the media content to the recipients based upon respective rules. The network entity can also be capable of processing the media content based upon the rules before delivering the media content, such as by transcoding or truncating at least a portion of the media content prior to delivery.
Abstract:
A computing device includes a display screen, where the computing device is configured to display on the screen a menu listing one or more applications, and to display on the screen an application summary that can be reached directly from the menu, where the application summary displays a limited list of data offered within the one or more applications, each of the data in the list being selectable to launch the respective application and enable the selected data to be seen within the respective application, and where the application summary is displayed while the one or more applications are in an un-launched state.
Abstract:
A system, device, and method provide for the selection of a device to perform a service using context information for the device. The context information may be included in a request from a control point device to the device or may be included in a response from the device to the control point device. The context information provides additional information relative to the services provided by the device or relative to the device itself. For example, if the device is a camera, the camera may include for each photograph taken by the camera a date the photograph is taken, a time the photograph is taken, a location at which the photograph is taken, a subject matter of the photograph, a temperature at the photograph location, a photographer, etc in the context information. Additionally, the camera may include the current geographic location of the camera in the context information.
Abstract:
A method for presenting information contained in messages in a terminal (MS). In the method, the message includes at least one component. The message is transmitted to a terminal (MS) in a system for transmitting multimedia messages. In the method, a presentation model (SMIL) is formed to contain information related to the presentation of each component attached in the message. The aforementioned presentation model (SMIL) is supplemented with a reference about the location of each component in the message, and the aforementioned presentation model (SMIL) is attached to the aforementioned message.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for processing and distributing legal text information allow content providers to distribute legal text to terminals receiving broadcast content. The legal text may include terms and conditions associated with content that a user may want to purchase or subscribe. Upon receiving a content selection that a user wishes to purchase, a terminal may determine whether the content is associated with legal text information. If so, the legal text may be obtained and rendered for the user. The terminal may further determine whether user consent is required and if so, prompt the user with a consent agreement. Legal text information may be obtained in a variety of manners including from a service provisioning system, from a local cache in the terminal and/or from a file delivery server. Communication of legal text information may further be conducted using messages storing legal text attributes and elements.
