Abstract:
A stretch releasable adhesive strip includes an extensible backing layer including a first adhesive region and a flexible support layer attached to the backing layer adjacent the first adhesive region that includes a second adhesive region of a repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive. To make the adhesive strip easier to handle and write on, the support layer is stiffer than the backing layer.
Abstract:
A stretch releasing pressure sensitive adhesive tape includes a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive composition that exhibits a 180null peel strength on a glass substrate at 98% relative humidity of at least about 5.47 N/dm and a non-tacky tab. A stretch releasing pressure sensitive adhesive tape includes a pressure sensitive adhesive composition having a modulus at 1 radian/second and null17null C. of no greater than about 1null107 Pa and a non-tacky tab.
Abstract:
An adhesive tape construction is removable from one or more objects to which it is adhered and which is reusably separable within its construction so that an object can be separated from another and subsequently reconnected with one another. The adhesive tape construction can be used to bond the other opposed surfaces of objects, including rigid objects such as a picture frame to a wall, where no portion of the adhesive tape construction projects from between the objects, and which subsequently affords easy separation of the objects without damage to either of them. More specifically, the adhesive tape construction includes a stretch release adhesive tape structure combined with a reusable connector surface.
Abstract:
A tape laminate adapted to support or locate an object along a substrate. The tape laminate comprises a support layer of strong, flexible, conformable, essentially non stretchable material having firmly attached thereto an attachment strip comprising a layer of stretch release adhesive defining an exposed major surface that is adapted to adhere the attachment strip to the substrate. In one embodiment, consisting only of the conformable support layer and the attachment strip, the tape laminate can be used to support or locate an object along a substrate (e.g., along a vertical wall) by conforming the tape laminate to the contour of portions of the object and of the wall and adhering a part of the layer of stretch release adhesive to each of those portions. In other embodiments, the tape laminate further includes means such as separable fasteners, twist ties, cable ties, elastic bands, or hooks for facilitating engagement of objects to be supported or located by the tape laminate.
Abstract:
Adhesive tape strip for a rereleasable adhesive bond, which can be removed from a bonded joint by pulling in the direction of the bond plane, characterized in that the bonding area decreases in the region of the grip tab or in the pressure-sensitive adhesive region directly bordering the grip tab.
Abstract:
An article support adapted for adhering to a substrate is described. The article support preferably includes a base member, a stretch release adhesive tape adhered to that base member, and some mechanism for gripping the stretch release adhesive tape. These items are arranged so that when the base member is adhered to the substrate by the stretch release adhesive tape, the base member can be removed by pulling on the gripping means at an acute angle from the surface of the substrate. Gripping means which resist disassociation from the stretch release adhesive tape during the removal of the base from the substrate are disclosed, including handle types. The base member can be generic, suitable for attaching various types of support members via, for example, complimentary dovetail slides. In such cases, provision such as a latch can be made to temporarily lock the support member to the base member. The article support can be provided so that when the support member is removed from the base member, the gripping mechanism engages the support member to automatically stretch the tape and remove the base member from the substrate.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a fiber reinforced adhesive composition comprising a pressure sensitive adhesive matrix and a fibrous reinforcing material within the pressure sensitive adhesive matrix. The adhesive composition has a yield strength and a tensile strength. The tensile strength is at least about 150% of the yield strength. Generally, the adhesive composition exhibits these properties at least 50% elongation when measured according to ASTM D 882-97 at a crosshead speed of 12 inches/minute (30 centimeters/minute).

Abstract:
A redetachable self-adhesive device a) whose reverse face is bonded with a strip of a double-sidedly adhering adhesive sheet in such a way that one end of the adhesive sheet projects beyond the device as a grip tab, b) the adhesive sheet is such that the bond made with it is redetachable by stretching pulling on the grip tab of the strip in the direction of the bond plane, wherein c) on its reverse face (2) the device (1), in the region (3A, 3B) situated against the grip tab (6) of the adhesive sheet strip (5) or and also partly against the free adhesive composition, has an average roughness Ra of 0.4-25 nullm.
Abstract:
A stretch releasing adhesive tape article including an elongated length of stretch releasing adhesive tape with side surfaces including at least one potential contact surface area. At least a portion of the potential contact surface area includes an adhesive surface. The potential contact surface area includes a first interface surface area in the uncompressed state and a second interface surface area greater than the first interface surface area in the compressed state. The stretch releasing adhesive tape in the uncompressed state can operate as a pull tab. The potential contact surface area in the uncompressed state can include a plurality of raised portions, a non-planar structure, or a discontinuous surface.
Abstract:
Repeated use of an adhesive-film laminate for bonds which can be redetached without residue by pulling on the laminate in the direction of the bond plane, the laminate employed comprising a) an elastic support with a resilience of at least 50% b) coated on at least one side with a solvent or hot-melt pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive or dispersion pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive.
