Abstract: Provided is an adhesive having high adhesive capacity even in the high temperature water, a fuel cell having the adhesive, and a method for manufacturing the fuel cell. An adhesive includes a base polymer, a tackifier, and an acid modified polypropylene. The acid modified polypropylene is at least one of the acid modified polypropylene selected from maleic anhydride-modified polypropylene and maleic acid-modified polypropylene. A mass ratio of the acid modified polypropylene to the base polymer (acid modified polypropylene/base polymer) is 0.1 or more.

Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive strip which can be detached substantially on the adhesion plane in a residue-free and nondestructive manner by stretching, said strip consisting of one or more adhesive material layers and optionally one or more intermediate carrier layers, at least one of the adhesive materials layers containing at least one filler, the primary particles of which can be individually separated, wherein the primary particles (i) are substantially spherical and (ii) have an average diameter d(0.5) of less than 10 μm, and the ratio of the average diameter d(0.5) of the primary particles to the thickness of the adhesive material layer in which the primary particles are contained is less than 1:2. The invention also relates to the production and use of said adhesive strip.

Abstract: A method of producing a roll-shaped body comprises: obtaining an adhesive agent sheet having an embossed shape at both surfaces thereof by imparting an embossed shape on both surfaces of an adhesive agent sheet containing a thermoplastic resin as a main component; overlapping a protective sheet having releasability from the adhesive agent sheet to at least one surface of the adhesive agent sheet having the embossed shape at both surfaces thereof; and obtaining the roll-shaped body by wounding the adhesive agent sheet having the embossed shape at both surfaces thereof and the protective sheet that are overlapped facing one another.

Abstract: A lactic acid based hot-melt adhesive with an amorphous lactic acid oligomer tackifier. A hot-melt adhesive (HMA) includes: a lactic acid and caprolactone copolymer resin, a crystalline lactic acid oligomer wax, and said amorphous lactic acid oligomer tackifier, characterized in that the amorphous lactic acid oligomer tackifier includes an amorphous polymerisation product of a) lactic acid monomer and b) a multifunctional polymerization initiator containing three or more hydroxy and/or amino groups. The use of the amorphous lactic acid oligomer tackifier in a lactic acid-based hot-melt adhesive, to a method for adhering substrates together using a hot-melt adhesive including said amorphous lactic acid oligomer tackifier, and to a specific amorphous lactic acid oligomer tackifier and a method of its preparation.

Abstract: A tackifier composition comprising at least one thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin and an antioxidant composition is provided; wherein a portion of the volatile organic compounds in the thermoplastic hydrocarbon resin has been removed; wherein the antioxidant composition comprises at least one primary antioxidant and at least one secondary antioxidant; and wherein the levels of individual volatile organic compound monitored in the tackifier composition are less than about 0.5 ppm as measured by GC/MS headspace analysis. Processes for producing the tackifier composition are also provided as well as adhesives comprising the tackifier compositions.

Abstract: Modified thermoplastic hydrocarbon thermoplastic resins are provided, as well as methods of their manufacture and uses thereof in rubber compositions. The modified thermoplastic resins are modified by decreasing the relative quantity of the dimer, trimer, tetramer, and pentamer oligomers as compared to the corresponding unmodified thermoplastic resin polymers, resulting in a product that exhibits a greater shift in the glass transition temperature of the elastomer(s) used in tire formulations. This translates to better viscoelastic predictors of tire tread performance, such as wet grip and rolling resistance. The modified thermoplastic resins impart remarkable properties on various rubber compositions, such as tires, belts, hoses, brakes, and the like. Automobile tires incorporating the modified thermoplastic resins are shown to possess excellent results in balancing the properties of rolling resistance, tire wear, snow performance, and wet braking performance.
