摘要: A laminated article comprising a plurality of abrasive resistant ceramic tiles secured to an elastomeric polyurethane cushioning support by means of a multitude of short thin fibers having major portions thereof embedded within an epoxy resin bonded to the tiles is fabricated by applying a thin layer of the resin in an uncured liquid phase to the tiles, applying a coating of the fibers to the liquid resin such that minor portions of the fibers in contact with the resin are wet thereby and the remaining major portions of the fibers extend from the resin layer, curing the resin to secure the fibers therein and to bond the resin to the tiles, applying a layer of a thermosetting polyurethane in an unpolymerized liquid phase to the fiber impregnated resin layer, and thereafter curing the polyurethane layer.

摘要: The present invention relates to a concrete construction having a number of cast-in bar-shaped displacement bodies of plastic, e.g., polystyrene, which are held in place by a number of anchorelements. A concrete construction of this type is known from the Dutch Patent Application 70 18413. The displacement body has a quadrangular cross-section and is clamped by means of a channel shaped clip, which exclusively engages the bottom-section of the bar and itself is clamped between parts of the casing. Since will small dimensions of the displacement bodies, the buoyancy forces, acting during casting and hardening of the concrete, play a relatively minor role, such a unilateral engagement can be admissable. However, for larger dimensions of the displacement bodies having large buoyancy forces such as a construction is not adequate and the danger arises that the displacement bodies will float. An object of the present invention aims at eliminating this disadvantage and to supply a concrete construction, in which the floating of the displacement bodies which may have large dimensions and correspondingly large buoyancy is prevented.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a building module and to a building system wherein the module is used in the construction of low cost housing units. The module includes a fiber reinforced plastic shell having a rectangular center portion with upturned edges forming a recess which receives a lightweight foam concrete filler material. The module has window and doorway openings therethrough, and suitable reinforcing members are embedded in the foam concrete material to provide the structural strength required to meet building code specifications and for handling purposes. Preformed building modules are used to construct the exterior walls of an enclosure in the building construction system, the modules being positioned so that the plastic shell faces outwardly, thus providing a weatherproof outside surface for the enclosure. The building system further includes a foundation upon which the modules rest and to which they are secured, prefabricated interior walls and a roof, which permit the structure to be easily assembled.
