Abstract: Triggering an uplink (UL) gap at a base station may include decoding a user equipment (UE) UL gap capability report received from a UE. A radio resource control (RRC) UL gap configuration for transmission to the UE may be encoded. The RRC UL gap configuration may include configuration information associated with at least one of a periodicity, offset, or length. Measurement information received from the UE may be decoded. The measurement information may include at least one of a power headroom value, a PCMAX,f,c value, or a P value. Based on the power headroom value, the PCMAX,f,c value, or the P value, the UL gap configuration may be activated by encoding a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) for transmission to the UE.

Abstract: Systems and methods for utilizing inter-UE coordination regarding reserved resources of a sidelink (SL) resource pool are described herein. A first user equipment (UE) may identify that a first SL resource pool on a first radio access technology (RAT) overlaps with a second SL resource pool on a second RAT, sense for reservation signaling on the second SL resource pool to determine reserved resources on the second SL resource pool, and transmit resource reservation information indicating those reserved resources on SL on the first RAT. A second UE may receive the resource reservation information on the SL, identify, within the first SL resource pool, corresponding resources that overlap with the reserved resources of the second SL resource pool, select, from the first SL resource pool, transmission resources to use for a SL transmission by prioritizing resources other than the corresponding resources; and perform the SL transmission using those transmission resources.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed to configure different paging occasions for enhanced UEs that support, and for legacy UEs that do not support, the enhanced feature of the paging early indication (PEI) in paging procedure for 5G/LTE networks. The network may use the separate paging parameters to design the PEI to save signaling overhead. The network may reuse paging format for the paging PDCCH to serve as the PEI that is transmitted in advance of the paging occasions for the enhanced UEs, or may keep legacy paging PDCCH at its current locations to serve as the PEI for the enhanced UEs. A scheduling offset may be configured to separate in time the paging PDCCH serving as the PEI and the paging PDSCH containing the paging message.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a UE to perform measurements of measurement resources transmitted by a network when the UE is configured with multiple concurrent measurement gap patterns (MGPs). The measurement resources may be carried on multiple carrier frequencies. The UE may receive measurement resource configuration parameters identifying time and frequency locations of the measurement resources transmitted on the multiple carrier frequencies. The UE may receive measurement gap configuration parameters for multiple concurrent MGPs specifying measurement intervals that may be used to perform the measurements. The UE may determine a linkage between the measurement resources on a carrier frequency and one of the concurrent MGPs so that the UE may independently measure the measurement resources received on the multiple carrier frequencies using their respectively linked MGPs. The linkage may be made through information elements in the measurement resource configuration parameters or the measurement gap configuration parameters containing the MGP.

Abstract: Devices and methods of using xSS are generally disclosed. A UE receives an xPSS with (Nrep) symbols each with a subcarrier spacing of K×a PSS subcarrier spacing and a duration of a PSS symbol/K. Guard subcarriers separate the xPSS and PSD when the ZC sequence is less than the occupied BW of the xPSS and at least one element in the ZC sequence is punctured for xPSS symbol generation otherwise. One or more xSSSs and xS-SCHs may follow the xPSS. The xSS may be omnidirectional, each having a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH or a different xPSS and same xSSS or xS-SCH or beamformed, each having different xPSSs and xSSSs or xS-SCHs or a same xPSS and different xSSS or xS-SCH.
