Abstract: A garage door operator is disclosed which has a motor-driven screw nearly enclosed within a guide, and a partial nut is guided by this guide means and moved longitudinally therealong by engagement with the rotating screw. The partial nut is adapted to be connected to a garage door to open and close the same. In order to shorten the package in which the garage door opener is shipped, the screw and guide means are in two or more parts and adapted to be coupled together to make an operative long screw and an operative long guide means. The screw parts, instead of being connected together at the factory by a double pivot connection, are shipped to the customer in a disconnected condition but one in which the coupling readily may be connected in a proper phase to avoid mismatch of the threads. Abstract: The invention relates to a power door opener, such as the type of opener used for opening overhead garage doors includes a worm gear rod having a major thread and a carrier member coupled to the door and releasably engageable with the major thread for moving the door between open and closed positions as the rod rotates. A second thread whose pitch is smaller than the major thread is formed on the rod and on a portion thereof located between a pair of spaced apart limit switches. A control member threadably engages the second thread for movement between the limit switches as the rod rotates for terminating motor operation as the door moves into its open and closed positions. The carrier member is mounted for radial movement into and out of engagement with the major thread to permit manual operation of the door.

A first roller track and a second roller track are aligned adjacent one another on the first side of the door. A third roller track and a fourth roller track are aligned adjacent one another on the second side of the door. A first motion driver is configured to move the door along the first roller track and the second roller track. A second motion driver is configured to move the door along the third roller track and the fourth roller track. A drive unit is operatively coupled to the first motion driver and the second motion driver to provide electromechanical power for cooperatively moving the door forward to an open position or aft to a closed position.

The in-vehicle device further includes: a locking mechanism unit that, upon determination by the controller based on the detected output from the detection switch that the movable member reaches an end point region in a movement direction, locks the movable member, and upon determination by the controller that a main switch is set to OFF, releases the lock; and a motor driver that, after the release of the lock by the locking mechanism unit, upon determination by the controller based on the detected output from the detection switch that the movable member is moved again, drives the motor to move the movable member.

Abstract: A refrigerator, comprising an automatic door-opening/closing apparatus mounted on a refrigerator body for driving the opening and closing of a door. When opening the door, if a first obstacle detecting apparatus detects the presence of an obstacle in front of the door, then the automatic door opening/closing apparatus stops the opening of the door; when closing the door, if a second obstacle detection apparatus detects the presence of an obstacle behind the door, then the automatic door-opening/closing apparatus stops the closing of the door. This stops the movement of the door upon the discovery of an obstacle while opening or closing the door, thus preventing the door from being damaged by collision, and when the obstacle is a person, preventing physical injuries from being caused.

A drive motor is located within the housing and is configured to selectively move a lock assembly between a locked position preventing movement of the bolt and an unlocked position allowing movement of the bolt. The drive spindle is mounted to the escutcheon for rotation about a longitudinal axis. The lock mechanism includes a lock gear movably mounted in the escutcheon. The cam mechanism includes a first cam defined by the escutcheon and a second cam defined by the lock gear. The driver is operable to rotate the lock gear between a first rotational position and a second rotational position. The cam mechanism is configured to longitudinally drive the lock gear from a first longitudinal position to a second longitudinal position as the lock gear rotates from the first rotational position to the second rotational position. Movement of the lock gear between the first longitudinal position and the second longitudinal position transitions the lock mechanism between a locked state and an unlocked state.

The operator includes a housing having a guide hole configured to be slidably engaged with the slider and an output shaft is mounted in a mounting hole disposed on the housing. The output shaft has a gear portion positioned in the guide hole and engaged with the rack portion.
