摘要: The present embodiments provide methods, apparatuses, and assemblies for use in producing a desired output beam that meets a desired intensity prescription. An apparatus can include an input surface, and an optically active output surface that receives a collimated beam, such that the output surface refractively maps an illuminance distribution of the collimated beam into a prescribed intensity pattern. The apparatus can include a collimating lens that collimates an input beam. Additionally, the output surface can be defined according to a cumulative illumination integral for the illuminance distribution and a cumulative illumination integral of the intensity pattern. Some embodiments provide methods that can determine an illumination integral for an illuminance pattern of an input, determine an intensity prescription, establish a spatio-angular correspondence of the input beam with the intensity prescription, derive surface normal vectors, and determine the output surface according to the surface normal vectors.

摘要: An automated fiber optic inspection system consists of an inspection station having a motion control system that moves a camera in three dimensions in response to motion control software that is integrated with inspection software. The inspection system automatically inspects fiber optic connectors located in a fixture or installed in housings on a fiber optic card or board and moves the camera from one connector to the other in the fixture or card until all connectors have been inspected. The system stores motion profiles for various types of fixtures and cards.

摘要: A hand tool that greatly expedites the installation of the valve locks that secure a valve spring retainer to the free end of a valve stem. The valve locks include an inwardly extending ridge that engages a circumferential groove that extends around an end portion of the valve stem. The valve lock is retained in this position by a tapered central bore of the valve spring retainer that produces an inward clamping force on the valve lock. The tool includes a plunger having a diameter equal to the diameter of the valve stem. The user positions the valve locks on the protruding cylindrical surface of the plunger, where they are held by magnetic attraction. The user pushes the end of the tool against the valve spring retainer, thereby compressing the valve spring so that the valve stem pushes the plunger into a close-fitting loader end cap until the valve locks are transferred to the valve stem and into engagement with the circumferential groove.
