The pouch is fabricated from a laminate sheeting whose plies have different properties that depend on package requirements, at least one ply in the laminate being an oriented, synthetic plastic film of high tensile strength. The plies are adhesively interlaminated at ambient temperature with a water-based adhesive whereby the orientation of the film is unaffected by the laminating process, in the course of which no environmentally objectionable fumes are discharged into the atmosphere.

摘要： A pressure-sensitive tape for sealing cartons and for other applications requiring a flexible tape of exceptional strength and of sufficient body so that the tape in roll form may be dispensed from a conventional pull-and-tear tape dispenser. The tape is composed of a paper-plastic film laminate having a first ply of biaxially-oriented, synthetic-plastic film, cold-laminated by a water-based adhesive to a second ply formed of paper. The inner surface of the film ply is corona-discharge treated to render it wettable and receptive to the adhesive, thereby producing a strong adhesive bond to the paper ply that is resistant to delamination of the tape. One side of the laminate which may be either the paper or the film side, is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive, whereas the other side is coated with a silicone release agent to prevent blocking, whereby the tape may be wound into a roll for loading a tape dispenser.

摘要： A paper-film laminate sealing tape for sealing a corrugated board carton or other article fabricated of recyclable material. The tape is composed of a base ply formed of oriented synthetic plastic film whose opposing surfaces are corona-discharge treated to render them wettable and receptive to adhesives, and a paper face ply cold laminated to the base ply by a water-based adhesive. The exposed surface of the film base ply is coated with a water-remoistenable adhesive, such as a starch, so that when this adhesive is moistened in a tape dispenser, the sealing tape can then be adhered to the carton. Since the re-moistenable adhesive is coated on the film ply which is water-impermeable, when this adhesive is moistened with water it remains in a moistened state in a condition to be applied to the carton for a controlled "open-time" period. Because of the strong bond between the film base ply and the paper face ply which resists delamination, the laminate tape adhered to the carton may be stripped therefrom, so that the carton can then be recycled or reused.

摘要： A high-strength, breathable paper-plastic laminate sheeting useable as a protective barrier in the structures of homes and buildings, as well as for other applications in which use has heretofore been made of synthetic fiber, non-woven fabric sheeting. The laminate sheeting is composed of a paper ply cold-laminated by a water-based adhesive to a reinforcing ply formed by an oriented synthetic plastic film, such as polypropylene, that imparts exceptional tear and burst strength to the laminate sheeting, at least one surface of the film being corona-discharge treated to render it wettable and receptive to adhesives. The sheeting is foraminated throughout its entire surface to create a myriad of fine pores that render the sheeting permeable to moisture vapor, but effectively impermeable to liquids. For some applications, an additional paper ply, which may be a metalized paper, is cold-laminated to the other side of the film ply, and/or an additional film ply is cold-laminated to the other side of the paper ply.

摘要： A paper-plastic laminate sheeting capable of being converted by conventional equipment into envelopes, grocery bags and other dilatable container products that initially are in a flat state and are normally made of paper. The sheeting is composed of a paper facing sheet cold-laminated by means of a water-based adhesive to a reinforcing film of synthetic plastic material, such as polypropylene. The film is oriented to impart exceptional tear and burst strength characteristics to the resultant waterproof product. The product, whose exterior surface is formed by the paper facing sheet, is readily printable. For some applications, a second paper facing sheet is cold-laminated to the other side of the film to produce a three-ply laminate sheeting whose exposed surfaces are readily printable and can accept conventional adhesives.
