摘要： The invention comprises a method. The method comprises applying a quantity of an aqueous dispersion of thermoplastic polymer particles to a primary backing and loop backs of a tufted carpet or a tufted synthetic turf, wherein the thermoplastic particles have an average particle size less than 1,000 microns. The method also comprises heating the aqueous dispersion to a temperature sufficient to remove water therefrom, and heating the thermoplastic particles on the primary backing and loop backs to a temperature at or above the melting temperature of the thermoplastic particles. The method further comprises allowing the heated thermoplastic polymer particles to cool below their melting temperature whereby the loop backs are adhered to the primary backing.

摘要： The present subject matter provides a shrink film free of silicon-containing material, fluorine-containing material, and solvent-formed seams. The shrink film utilizes a water soluble layer covering an adhesive layer. The water soluble layer is in dry form and non-tacky, allowing processing of the shrink film subsequent to adhesive application to the shrink film. When the water soluble layer is dissolved, the adhesive layer is exposed and is capable of forming a permanent bond. The adhesive can be used to form a seam in the film and/or can be used to form a bond between the film and a substrate. The water soluble layer facilitates removal of an optional release liner from the adhesive. A substrate with the shrink film attached thereto and a related method of attaching a heat shrinkable film to a substrate are also disclosed.

Aqueous sealing solutions including a relatively dilute solvent for one or more polymeric components of the water-soluble film (e.g., water-soluble polymeric components thereof, such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH)) can exhibit one or more benefits, including a reduction in dissolution of the film by the sealing solution and an increase in seal strength. Also disclosed are sealed articles formed with the sealing solutions, for example water-soluble packets containing various liquid or solid compositions.

摘要： A four-layer film for packaging, including blister packaging, is described. Layer 1 may be a rigid film, such as a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyester. Layer 2 may be a moisture barrier, such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE). Layer 3 may be an oxygen barrier, such as a co-extruded film having a polyethylene (PE) layer, an EVOH layer, and a second PE layer. Layer 4 may be a relatively thin layer of a rigid film, such as a PVC or polyester. In this arrangement, Layer 2 may protect the contents of the package from external or atmospheric moisture. Layer 2 may also protect Layer 3 from atmospheric moisture, thereby helping to preserve the effectiveness of Layer 3 as an oxygen barrier.
