Abstract:
A method of channel assessment and channel searching in a wireless network is disclosed. The wireless network separately performs a channel assessment procedure and a channel searching procedure for channel change or another object. The channel assessment procedure is to measure a status or quality of a channel which is currently used in the wireless network. A coordinator of the wireless network designates a time interval for the channel assessment to notify other device of it. The channel assessment procedure may be performed periodically, and is preferably scheduled to allow other devices not to use the channel for the time interval which at least one device performs channel assessment.
Abstract:
A method for performing beam tracking in a wireless communication network is provided. In the method, a transmitter station emits beam patterns including respective beam pattern indices to receiver stations and receives a feedback index indicating one of the beam patterns from each receiver station during a predetermined channel time after the emission of beam patterns is completed. A beam pattern feedback is processed using a simple code, thereby minimizing the amount of information and hardware required for beam search and tracking. In addition, in uni-directional beam tracking, it is possible to perform tracking on a number of beam links at once and a sub-channel that can be used for beam tracking and search is allocated to each station to allow a number of stations to simultaneously perform beam search, thereby reducing the amount of used channel time.
Abstract:
A method of allocating channel resources from a first device to a second device in a wireless network comprises receiving channel resource allocation information from a coordinator of the wireless network to allocate the channel resources; transmitting data to the second device through the allocated channel resources; receiving channel resource request information from the second device to request the first device to allocate a part of the allocated channel resources; and deciding whether to allocate the part of the channel resources allocated from the coordinator, to the second device in accordance with the channel resource request information.

Abstract:
A data transmitting method is disclosed. In transmitting A/V data stream in a transmitting device of a wireless network, the present invention includes transmitting the A/V data stream having a first data format to a receiving device, if a quality of a channel for carrying the A/V data stream to the receiving device is changed, deciding to change a data format of the A/V data stream to be transmitted to the receiving device into a second data format, and transmitting the A/V data stream having the second data format to the receiving device.
Abstract:
A device for allocating a channel resource in a wireless network includes a Media Access Control (MAC)/MAC Layer Management Entity (MLME) sublayer and the MAC/MLME sublayer receives a primitive requesting to transmit a message for requesting the channel resource from an upper layer; transmits the message for requesting the channel resource to a coordinator, wherein the message for requesting the channel resource includes information about a duration of the channel resource; and receives channel resource allocation information for allocating the channel resource from a MAC/MLME sublayer of the coordinator, the channel resource allocation information including information about a duration of the allocated channel resource, wherein the device transmits a first message to a second device during the channel resource allocated based upon the channel resource allocation information, and receives a second message from the second device in response to the first message during the allocated channel resource.
Abstract:
Relating to a home network system and a home entertainment system, a method and an apparatus for transmitting packets in a home network system and a home entertainment system are disclosed. Additionally, a method for identifying devices to which the packets are to be transmitted and an apparatus for supporting the same are also disclosed herein. According to an embodiment, a method for transmitting a packet in a high definition base transmission (hereinafter referred to as HDBaseT) system includes the steps of receiving data from a source device in a transmission adaptor, converting the received data from the transmission adaptor to a downstream packet, in order to transmit the converted downstream packet to a receiving adaptor through an HDBaseT network, and transmitting the converted downstream packet to the receiving adaptor. At this point, the downstream packet may include a hierarchical identifier for identifying HDBaseT entities to which the downstream packet is to be transmitted.
