摘要: An application program provides a performance manager and an audio rendition manager to produce a rendition corresponding to an audio source. The performance manager receives audio data from the audio source and instantiates audio data processing components to process the audio data. The audio rendition manager receives the audio data from the performance manager and instantiates audio data processing components to further process the audio data, including a synthesizer component that generates audio sound wave data, and audio buffers that process the audio sound wave data. The audio data processing components are instantiated as objects having an interface that can be called by the application program. The application program requests a programming reference to an interface of an audio data processing component in the performance manager, or in the audio rendition manager, by calling an interface method of the performance manager or the audio rendition manager, respectively.

摘要: Implantable heart-monitoring devices, such as defibrillators, pacemakers, and cardioverters, detect onset of abnormal heart rhythms and automatically apply corrective electrical therapy, specifically one or more bursts of electric charge, to abnormally beating hearts. Critical parts in these devices include the capacitors that store and deliver the bursts of electric charge. Some devices use flat aluminum electrolytic capacitors have cases with right-angle corners which leave gaps when placed against the rounded interior surfaces of typical device housings. These gaps and voids not only waste space, but ultimately force patients to endure implantable devices with larger housings than otherwise necessary. Accordingly, the inventors devised several capacitor structures that have curved profiles conforming to the rounded interior surfaces of device housings. Some exemplary capacitor embodiments include two or more staggered capacitor elements, and other embodiments stagger capacitors of different types and/or sizes.

摘要: To achieve peak acoustic and power performance, the coil or applied current should be in phase or substantially aligned with the back electromotive force (back-EMF) voltage. However, there are generally phase differences between the applied current and back-EMF voltage that are induced by the impedance of the brushless DC motor (which can vary based on conditions, such as temperature and motor speed). Traditionally, compensation for these phase differences was provided manually and on an as-needed basis. Here, however, a system and method are provided that automatically perform a commutation advance by incrementally adjusting a drive signal over successive commutation cycles when the applied current and back-EMF voltage are misaligned.

摘要: Efficient recursive audio processing of one or more input data streams using a multistage processor for performing one or more predetermined functions and programmable audio effects. A first stage performs a first predetermined function, such as frequency shifting function. Intermediate results are preferably mixed. The second stage applies programmable audio effects to the mixed data, such as a reverberation effect, and stores the second stage output in a destination mix bin. The second stage output is preferably transferred to a main memory accessible to a primary processor. The second stage output is directed back to the first stage of the multistage processor to perform a second predetermined function, such as three dimensional spatialization. The primary processor modifies parameters of the first predetermined function to efficiently perform dynamic operations, such as Doppler shifts and volume transitions between multiple sound sources and a mixture of those sounds as a single point source.
