Abstract:
A method of estimating leak flow in a gas delivery system is provided that includes determining an average total flow Qtot (or summation or integral of total flow) of the gas delivery system for each of N breaths, determining Pγ1 and Pγ2 for each of the N breaths, wherein P is a leak pressure of the gas delivery system, γ1 is a first predetermined value, γ2 is a second predetermined value, and Pγ1 and Pγ2 are averages for the breath (summation or integrals may also be used), setting up a system of N equations, one for each of the N breaths, wherein each of the equations has the form Qtot=Gorf.Pγ1+Gvg.Pγ2 and uses the determined Qtot, Pγ1 and Pγ2 for the associated breath, solving the system of N equations for Gorf and Gvg, and using Gorf and Gvg to calculate instantaneous leak Qleak using Qleak=Gorf.Pγ1+Gvg.Pγ2

Abstract:
The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for reliably and securely transferring queued application messages. Application messages are (e.g.,. binary or text) encoded and then encapsulated in transfer messages, enqueue messages, and dequeue responses such that composable protocol elements used in application messages can be reused in the transfer messages, enqueue messages, and dequeue responses. Transfer message headers are encoded and then encapsulated along with encoded application messages such that composable protocol elements used in transfer headers and application messages can be reused in the store and forward messages. Application messages, transfer messages, enqueue messages, dequeue responses, and store and forward messages can all be configured in accordance with the same messaging protocol, such as, for example, Simple Object Access Protocol. Since encapsulated elements are encoded, the encapsulated elements do not interfere with configuration of wrapping messages.
Abstract:
A touch system includes a plurality of coordinate input sub-regions. The input sub-regions overlap to define a generally contiguous input surface. Each coordinate input sub-region generates pointer coordinate data in response to pointer contacts thereon. The pointer coordinate data is processed to update image data presented on the input surface. When a pointer contact is made on a coordinate input sub-region that does not overlap with an adjacent coordinate input sub-region, the coordinate input sub-region processes acquired images to derive pointer data and triangulates the position of the pointer using the derived pointer data thereby to determine the position of the pointer contact relative to the touch surface. When a pointer contact is made on a coordinate input sub-region that overlaps with an adjacent coordinate input sub-region, each overlapping coordinate input sub-regions processes acquired images to derive pointer data and triangulates the position of the pointer using the derived pointer data. Thereafter, the triangulated positions generated by the overlapping coordinate input sub-regions are processed in accordance with defined logic thereby to determine the position of the pointer contact relative to the touch surface.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for preprocessing multimedia presentations to be delivered to customers such that delays due to interactive response time is virtually eliminated is described. The preprocessor receives as inputs an original multimedia presentation and parameters characterizing other system components, which parameters include the round trip latency between a delivery processor and a presentation processor, and generates a preprocessed multimedia presentation including a delivery schedule in the form of a labelled, directed graph. In generating the delivery schedule, the preprocessor ensures that each object of the presentation and its associated presentation command arrive at the presentation processor no later than its presentation time; objects and commands which are delivered to the presentation processor can be accommodated at the memory of the presentation processor; and those objects to be presented immediately in response to a customer's selection of an interactive feature are received at the presentation processor prior to their earliest presentation times. This delivery schedule contains delivery commands which are executed by the delivery processor for transmitting objects of the presentation and their associated presentation commands to the presentation processor, which executes the presentation commands and presents the objects to its corresponding customer.
Abstract:
A system for controlling machine-induced expiratory airflow of a subject, the subject having an airway, the system comprising: a pressure generator (140) configured to generate a pressurized flow of breathable gas for delivery to the airway of the subject; and one or more processors (110) configured to execute computer program modules, the computer program modules comprising: a control module (170) configured to control the pressure generator a metric determination module (154) configured to determine a value of a flow metric during expiration by the subject, a flow analysis module (156) configured to compare the determined value of the flow metric with a target level of the flow metric; and an adjustment module (160) configured to adjust one or more of exsufflation pressure.
Abstract:
A pressurized flow of breathable gas is delivered to the airway of a subject in accordance with a therapy regime. Responsive to the subject resuming respiration after a respiratory event, delivery of the pressurized flow of breathable gas is resumed at an inhalation in the therapy regime. As such, the therapy regime is effectively re-synchronized with the respiration of the subject subsequent to a respiratory event.
