Abstract: A novel gear well (200) for a crusher (1) may be characterized in that the recess (210) comprises a helical, non-uniform depth recess having a high point (212A) and a low point (212B). The gear well (200) may be further characterized in that rather than extending to a sharp corner transition (112) and then to an orthogonal sidewall (126), the floor (211) of the recess (210) may instead intersect or blend with the pinion clearance floor (222) adjacent the low point (212B). The helical, non-uniform depth recess (210) is preferably configured for improving the strength of a gear well (200) and/or configured for mitigating oil frothing within the gear well (200), without limitation.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a filter (31 38, 42) are disclosed. According to some embodiments, filter (31, 38, 42) may have a frame (34) and washing means operatively coupled to the frame (34) which is configured to wash one or more filter cloths simultaneously, the filter cloths being attached to a respective number of filter plate assemblies (13) which are supported by the frame (34). The washing means may comprise a laterally traversing washer mechanism, the laterally traversing washer mechanism being configured to move (8) along a lateral axis (35) of the filter (31, 38, 42) from a first side of the one or more filter cloths to a second side of the one or more filter cloths. In some embodiments, the washing means may be operatively coupled to the frame (34) via a track (3) and a washer carriage (1) on the track (3). In some embodiments, the washer carriage may be further provided with means, for example, to simultaneously shake one or more filter plate assemblies (13), without limitation. Methods of filtering slurry comprising the steps of moving (8) a laterally traversing washer mechanism in a direction along a lateral axis (35) of a filter (31, 38, 42); rotating at least one spray bar (2); and providing wash water to the at least one spray bar (2) are further disclosed.

Abstract: A comminution apparatus can include a seal that is configured to interface with a lip seal defined adjacent to sidewall of a housing adjacent to a lever connected to a roller located inside the housing. The lever may extend from the roller within the housing to a position outside of the housing and pass through a seal attached to the housing. The seal can be configured to include a first annular member configured for attachment to the housing adjacent to the lever and a lip seal attached to a housing sidewall adjacent the lever. A second annular member may be attached to the first annular member outside of the housing adjacent a portion of the lever. A deformable annular member may be attached between the first and second annular members and may be deformable to a plurality of different configurations in response to motion of the lever.

Abstract: A method of improving metal leach kinetics and recovery during atmospheric or substantially atmospheric leaching of a metal sulfide is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method may comprise the steps of: (a) producing a metal sulfide flotation concentrate; (b) processing the metal sulfide concentrate in a reductive activation circuit that operates at a first redox potential, to produce a reductively-activated metal sulfide concentrate; and, (c) subsequently processing the activated metal sulfide concentrate in an oxidative leach circuit to extract metal values. In some disclosed embodiments, reductive activation steps may be employed prior to oxidative leaching steps (including heap leap leaching or bio-leaching steps). In some embodiments, physico-chemical processing steps may be employed during reductive activation and/or oxidative leaching. Systems for practicing the aforementioned methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of controlling frothing during atmospheric or substantially atmospheric leaching of a metal sulfide is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method may comprise the steps of (a) producing a metal sulfide concentrate via flotation; (b) producing a tailings stream via flotation; and, (c) diverting a portion or all of said produced tailings stream to an atmospheric or substantially atmospheric sulfide leach circuit. In some embodiments, the metal recovery flowsheet may comprise a unit operation comprising: (a) a sulfide concentrator comprising a flotation circuit, the flotation circuit producing a metal sulfide concentrate stream, and a tailings stream; and, (b) an atmospheric or substantially atmospheric metal sulfide leach circuit. The sulfide concentrator may be operatively connected to the atmospheric or substantially atmospheric metal sulfide leach circuit via both of said metal sulfide concentrate stream, and said tailings stream.

Abstract: Disclosed, is a dosing apparatus [1] which is configured to provide a predetermined amount of material from one vessel to another vessel. The dosing apparatus [1] may comprise a dosing head having a dosing tube [9] and a dosing rod [12] which is movable within said dosing tube [9]. The dosing rod [12] may comprise a dosing chamber [10] which may be filled with a predetermined amount of material. Also described, is a method of dosing which utilizes the dosing apparatus [1] disclosed. In some embodiments, the method may comprise providing a dosing apparatus [1], extending the dosing rod [12] with respect to the dosing tube [9], loading the dosing chamber [10] with a predetermined amount of material, and, retracting the dosing rod [12] with respect to the dosing tube [9] to close the dosing chamber [10]. One or more air and/or liquid cleaning steps may be employed, wherein a cleaning unit [17, 117] may be utilized to clean the dosing rod [12] and/or a funnel [4].
