Abstract:
A compact pipe specimen applicable to a fracture toughness test used to evaluate physical properties of a pipe material is provided. The compact pipe specimen includes: a pipe having a notch portion formed in a circumferential direction and a crack portion formed at the edge of the notch portion; and first and second jigs having openings to which a pressurizing unit is coupled so as to cause a bending load on the pipe, having the notch portion therebetween, and attached to the exterior surface of the pipe, respectively. It is unnecessary to correct the influence of a constraint effect due to varying sizes and shapes of the specimen. There is no restriction to the curvature and thickness of a pipe. A fracture behavior of a pipe crack portion can be precisely simulated.

A probe-type light-emitting diode (LED) chip module for biostimulation includes: an LED chip, a substrate supporting the LED chip, an optical waveguide collecting light emitted from the LED chip; and an insulator coupling the substrate with the optical waveguide and providing insulation from outside. The optical waveguide includes: a body extending from one end facing the LED chip with a cylindrical shape; a variable layer having a diameter decreasing gradually from the other end of the body; and a probe extending from the end of the variable layer and having a diameter equivalent to that of an optical fiber. The probe-type LED chip module for biostimulation may be manufactured with a small size to have superior portability and applicability.

An apparatus for automatically applying meteorological information includes a meteorological information classifying unit configured to automatically classify various types of meteorological information discriminately depending on their formats; and a meteorological information parsing unit configured to perform parsing to cut meteorological information classified by the meteorological information classifying unit. Further, the apparatus includes a meteorological information verifying unit configured to verify a syntax error and semantic content with respect to the meteorological information; and a meteorological message generating unit configured to generate a meteorological message by extracting only items required for air control from the meteorological information. Furthermore, the apparatus includes a meteorological message transmission unit configured to transmit the meteorological message generated by the meteorological message generating unit to a controller working position (CWP) system that performs air control.

Provided is an expression vector for gene therapy having a novel combination of transcriptional regulatory elements, including a promoter, an enhancer, an intron, an untranslated region (UTR) and a locus control region (LCR). The expression vector enables sustained expression of a liver tissue-specific gene, and thus, can be effectively used for treating thrombosis, hemophilia, liver cancer, etc.

In one embodiment there is set forth a method comprising providing a semiconductor structure having an electrode, wherein the providing includes providing a phase transition material region and wherein the method further includes imparting energy to the phase transition material region to induce a phase transition of the phase transition material region. By inducing a phase transition of the phase transition material region, a state of the semiconductor structure can be changed. There is further set forth an apparatus comprising a structure including an electrode and a phase transition material region, wherein the apparatus is operative for imparting energy to the phase transition material region to induce a phase transition of the phase transition material region without the phase transition of the phase transition material region being dependent on electron transport through the phase transition material region.

The method includes entering into an MDT mode, receiving a system parameter from a base station, obtaining MDT-related data DN measured at a current time TN, and updating at least one of an average of the periodically measured MDT-related data ‘DAverage’ and information about distribution of the periodically measured MDT-related data ‘DDistribution’ to reflect DN based on the system parameter. A method of navigating through audio files and an apparatus for playing back audio files using the method are provided. The apparatus for playing back audio files includes an input module which receives from a user a command to switch the apparatus to a navigation mode, a storage module which stores a plurality of audio files, each audio file comprising a highlight section, a control module which extracts the audio files from the storage module in response to the command received by the input module and plays back the highlight sections of the audio files while adjusting a volume level for each of the audio files, and an output module which outputs to the user the highlight sections of the audio files played back by the control module.
