Abstract:
A task identifier-based mechanism is configured to temporarily disable a dual-issue capability of one or more threads in a superscalar simultaneous multi-threaded core. The core executes a first thread and a second thread which are each provided with a dual-issue capability wherein up to two instructions may be issued in parallel. In response to a task identifier being received that is indicative of a task requiring an improved level of determinism, the dual-issue capability of at least one of the first thread or the second thread is temporarily disabled.
Abstract:
A gaming platform including an interactive gaming system comprising multiple game access points physically distributed throughout a destination for conducting a physical-virtual game. Gamers carry electronically detectable identification means for identification at each game access point. Various mobile gaming devices are specified for accepting gamer input and for outputting game directives and content providing unique experiences including secret messages, all in accordance with the on-going game state. Participation earns sales benefits including the ability to purchase special themed toys or to receive discounts. A sales point is a variation of a game access point where the gamer makes a purchase effected by sales benefits and is identified and tracked within the sales point such that displays and actuatable devices in the store respond to the gamer. Gamers use or wear purchased products as gear to increase their in-game opportunities. The system summons gamers to destination game parts including themed characters.
Abstract:
A method of moulding a settable material includes the steps of: (i) providing a first mould or mould cavity; (ii) providing an outlet from which a settable material is discharged; (iii) aligning the first mould or mould cavity with the outlet; (iv) discharging settable material from the outlet into the first mould or mould cavity; (v) providing a second mould or mould cavity; (vi) displacing the first mould or mould cavity away from the outlet; (vii) aligning the second mould or mould cavity with: (a) the outlet; and (b) the first mould or mould cavity such that the second mould or mould cavity is in fluid communication with the first mould or mould cavity; (viii) discharging settable material from the outlet into the second mould or mould cavity; (ix) permitting a portion of the settable material discharged into the second mould or mould cavity to flow from within the second mould or mould cavity to within the first mould or mould cavity; (x) further displacing the first mould or mould cavity and the second mould or mould cavity away from the outlet; (xii) permitting: (a) the settable material in the first mould or mould cavity to set into a first moulded article; and (b) the settable material in the second mould or mould cavity to set into a second moulded article; and (xiii) severing the first moulded article from the second moulded article.
Abstract:
A physical-virtual gaming system comprising a game board including a multiplicity of physical locations, a game overlay including a multiplicity of logical locations, and game pieces for moving throughout the logical locations. The system tracks the physical locations of the game pieces and translates these physical locations into the logical locations using pre-known physical-to-logical location mapping information. Game boards, game overlays and game pieces can be individualized with their own unique identifiers. As game pieces are moved, a game database comprising at least current game piece locations and the game state are maintained. Based at least in part upon the current game piece locations and game state the system provides actions including outputting any of virtual content and information on any of a shared or private computing device running a game app. Actions also include causing changes to game devices including wearables.
Abstract:
A preferred form of the present invention places a scoop inside a bag inflated with air, forming a bag/scoop assembly. The intent of the bag/scoop assembly is to prevent the scoop from settling below the top surface of the powder without changing the scoop design. The bag/scoop assembly has a convex surface, thus, if powder were to fall on top of the bag/scoop assembly, the curvature of the bag/scoop assembly would allow the powder to slide off the bag more easily due to gravity. The bag/scoop assembly also reduces the difference in surface area of the powder relative to the bag/scoop assembly. This reduction in surface area ratios decreases the space available for the powder to move over the bag/scoop assembly during shaking and vibration of the tub. The bag/scoop assembly is lighter than the powder and is therefore not subject to sinking.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for a user interface that provides active assistance to discover, investigate, refine and save multiple topics of interest, i.e., a topic incubator where user interests are discovered, quickly developed to maturity and preserved. Each topic may have an independent topic interface with independently suggested topics. In each topic interface, users may control topic development by selecting saved topics, dynamically suggested topics and manually entered topics. Suggested topics may be based on saved interests, related interests and/or browsed content. Suggested topics may differ between topic interfaces and may change with topics. Suggested topics may be continuously refined or updated based on existing topics, changed topics, selected suggested topics and selected content. Users control treatment of selected topics individually or as refinements of (combinations with) other topics to create compound topics. Users replace or refine existing topics in existing topic interfaces or branch off topics into additional topic interfaces.
Abstract:
A street light has a hollow standard having a lower end and an upper end. The standard is root mounted at its lower end and supports a lamp and a solar panel. An illumination circuit is mounted in the base compartment and connects a battery to the lamp for control of the lamp. A charging circuit connects the battery to the solar panel and to an electricity connection for charging. A control circuit inside the base compartment controls the brightness. The electricity connection extends from the root portion of the standard for connection of the light to an AC electricity supply. The charging circuit is programmed to connect the battery to the electricity supply at low electricity tariff times and to disconnect the battery from the mains before high electricity tariff times. The charging circuit is programmed to connect the battery to the solar panel for charging during daylight.
Abstract:
A method for securely transferring a service from a first mobile device to a second mobile device, the service being associated with a server configured for facilitating provisioning of services to mobile devices over a wireless communications network. The method includes generating in the first mobile device a shared key, the shared key being generated using a master key unique to the server and to the first mobile device, the master key being accessible by the server and by the first mobile device; and sending said shared key from the first mobile device to the second mobile device using an alternate communication mechanism independent from the server.
Abstract:
This invention is directed towards a waste enclosure device (“device”) comprising a waste enclosure employing operational functions including collection and monitoring capacity wherein said device includes one or more programmable logic controllers. Operational functions are performed by electrical components including sensors to determine waste deposits characteristics and contents. Said device operational functions are further adapted to send and receive data, optionally wirelessly, and configured and adapted to utilize solar derived electrical power and, optionally, electric power from other sources.
Abstract:
A combination end cap and tubular member for use in repairing post-tensioned concrete, including a first segment, a second segment, and a third segment. The first segment has a first end and a first opening, where the first segment is substantially cylindrical in shape. The second segment is substantially frustoconical in shape. The third segment has a second end and a second opening and is substantially cylindrical in shape. The second segment is disposed between and integral with the first segment and the third segment. A cavity is formed by the first, second, and third segments, where the first end is arranged to be secured to a tubular member and at least one cable is disposed longitudinally within the cavity.
