    Abstract: A transport bracket disclosed herein includes a support structure and at least one vertical beam which extend sin a substantially vertical direction upward from a side of the support structure. Where the bracket is configured for the transport of a door or similar objects, two beams are present with one opposite the other. A mounting plate extending horizontally from each beam. Each mounting plate defines an opening for receipt of a vertical adjustment shaft which extending through the opening and is threadingly engaged thereto. The vertical adjustment shaft has a top located vertically above the mounting plate, and a bottom located vertically below the mounting plate. A handle is operatively engaged to the top and a wheel assembly is engaged to the bottom. Rotation of the handle changes the proximity of the wheel assembly to the mounting plate. The wheel assembly has an axle extending from the vertical adjustment shaft, and at least one wheel rotatably engaged about the axle.

    Abstract: An air treatment appliance for treating surrounding air including a body. A spider-mount mounted to the body has a motor mounted thereto in cantilever fashion. A fan attached to the motor may be a radial fan, and is operable to draw in surrounding air and cause it to flow through the appliance. A grommet between the motor and the spider-mount dampens vibrations from the motor. A filtering mechanism in the path of the airflow helps filter out undesirable material from the surrounding air. A radial airflow guide downstream from the fan efficiently guides the airflow to be expelled in a predetermined direction. The motor is at least partially accommodated by the spider-mount and the fan. The apparatus results in reduced noise and vibration during operation of the appliance.

    Abstract: A SIR system has frontal air bags and side air bags both controlled by the same microprocessor. To guard against spurious deployment of side air bags with minimal software burden, a lateral accelerometer and an arming circuit detect side crash activity and apply an arming signal to a pulse accumulator circuit in the microprocessor which monitors the accumulator state to detect arming, thereby inhibiting deployment when the arming signal is absent. The arming circuit receives the accelerometer signal, removes the dc component which is subject to drift, adds a fixed offset voltage and compares the resultant signal to threshold values to produce an arming signal when a threshold is breached.

    Abstract: An invention regarding traffic management is disclosed. A system that tells motorist how fast to go in order to make it through a traffic signal while it is green serves one or more lanes in one or more directions. A Fast Lane On Warning (FLOW) sequencer is in synchronization with traffic phases sequencer (sequencing Red, Green, Yellow, Left Turn and the like) with both sequencers having service cycle period Pi but with start times of both sequencers offset from one another. The FLOW sequencer outputs data, particularly status of signal or “Signal Phase And Timing: SPAT” through wireless means to a mobile receiver/calculator/readout aboard the approaching vehicle. The receiver/calculator/readout also receives data of its location or whereabouts, particularly its distance to the intersection. The receiver calculator readout processes the two incoming data types considering “distance” and “time left” and gives an output of digital, graphic, audio or the like as to how fast the motorist should go to make it through during green.

    Abstract: Several methods are disclosed for the generation of coherent short-wavelength electromagnetic radiation through optical nonlinear frequency mixing means. The invention involves several stages of efficient nonlinear frequency conversion to shift the output of high-power infra-red fiber-lasers into the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV). The described laser source architecture is designed around non-critically phase-matched (NCPM) sum-frequency mixing (SFM) interactions in the nonlinear crystal CLBO. The NCPM interaction is an optimum condition for bulk frequency conversion of cw radiation because it allows tight focusing of the input laser radiation without Poynting vector walk-off, thereby increasing the non-linear drive significantly. The sub-200-nm output wave is generated from SFM of a long-wave IR laser field and a short-wave UV laser field. The long-wave laser beam may be derived directly from a rare-earth-doped fiber laser, whereas the short-wavelength UV beam is provided as the fourth frequency harmonic of a second rare-earth-doped fiber laser system.

    Abstract: A pedal driven aquatic propulsion system comprises a driven sprocket located substantially vertically beneath a drive sprocket. The planes of rotation of the drive and driven sprockets are disposed substantially at right angles to one another. An endless chain drive transmits power from the drive sprocket to the driven sprocket, operating in a twisting three-dimensional orientation as it loops around the sprockets. A pivoting, self tensioning idler arm is adjustably mounted on a frame that encloses the propulsion drive, and comprises an idler sprocket disposed in rotatable contact with the chain drive to maintain the chain under constant tension. The plane of rotation of the idler sprocket is tilted and offset from the planes of rotation of the drive and driven sprockets. The constantly tensioning system comprises a series of stationary and flying idlers aligned to the natural twist of the chain.
