Abstract: A canister for use in administering reduced pressure to a tissue site includes a center body, a first end cap, and a second end cap. The center body includes a first end, second end, and a number of fluidly separate body conduits. The first end cap is connected to the first end of the center body and includes a number of return conduits fluidly connecting one body conduit to another. The first end has a port for receiving a conduit in fluid communication with the tissue site. The second end cap is connected to the second end of the center body and includes a number of return conduits fluidly connecting one body conduit to another. The second end cap has a port for receiving a conduit in fluid communication with a reduced pressure source. The fluid connection between the body conduits and the return conduits creates a continuous, tortuous pathway.

Abstract: In one example embodiment, a system for treating a tissue site is disclosed comprising a dressing adapted to contact the tissue site and provide a fluid seal between a therapeutic environment and a local external environment, and a solution source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to deliver an antimicrobial solution comprising a peroxy α-keto carboxylic acid, such as peroxy pyruvic acid, to the tissue interface. The system may further comprise a negative-pressure source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to provide negative pressure to the therapeutic environment after delivery of the antimicrobial fluid to the therapeutic environment. In another example embodiment, a method for treating a tissue site is disclosed comprising positioning a tissue interface to contact the tissue site, covering the tissue interface and the tissue site with a drape to provide a fluid seal between the therapeutic environment and the local external environment, and delivering an antimicrobial solution comprising peroxy α-keto carboxylic acid to the therapeutic environment before providing negative pressure to the therapeutic environment.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. Illustrative embodiments may include an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with low-profile distribution components for wound therapy. Such apparatus may include a low-profile dressing interface or connector comprising at least two fluid pathways fluidly coupled to a recessed space of the connector, one for providing negative pressure to a tissue interface or manifold and the other for sensing the negative pressure within the recessed space adjacent the tissue interface. In some embodiments, a pressure-offloading layer may be disposed against at least one of the fluid pathways. The pressure-offloading layer may comprise a polymeric foam to distribute compressive forces being applied to the dressing interface, thereby enhancing resistance of the fluid pathways to collapsing and blockage when the dressing interface is subject to external compression. In some embodiments, two pressure-offloading layers may be utilized.

Abstract: In one example embodiment, a wound imaging system includes a user interface, a computer processor, and an active contouring module. The user interface is configured to display an image of a wound acquired by the wound imaging system and selectively receive inputs from a user defining an initial perimeter of the wound. An active contouring module is configured to operate on the computer processor to receive the inputs defining the initial perimeter of the wound, identify features of the image on opposing sides of the initial perimeter of the wound, and identify an actual perimeter of the wound based on the initial perimeter of the wound and the identified features. The user interface is further configured to display, on the image of the wound, the actual perimeter of the wound as identified by the active contouring module and selectively receive inputs from the user to modify the actual perimeter of the wound.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments may relate to dressings configured to provide negative-pressure wound therapy to a tissue site, while simultaneously shielding a portion of the tissue site from the negative pressure. For example, dressing assembly embodiments may comprise an outer dressing configured for applying negative-pressure wound therapy to a tissue site, and an underlying isolation patch configured for use under the outer dressing. The isolation patch may be configured to seal the portion of the tissue site so that it does not experience the negative pressure. Additionally disclosed are other apparatus, dressings, systems, and methods.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure with instillation fluids to a tissue site are disclosed. Some embodiments are illustrative of an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure and/or therapeutic solution of fluids to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with sensing properties of fluids extracted from a tissue site and/or instilled at a tissue site. For example, a system may comprise a tissue interface adapted to be coupled to a source of instillation fluid and a dressing interface having a therapy cavity that includes a pH sensor to provide data indicative of acidity/alkalinity at the tissue site. Such apparatus may further comprise algorithms for processing such data for providing information relating to the progression of healing of wounds at the tissue site.
