A parallel to serial data transfer system includes a CPU for continuously supplying parallel data of plural bytes, a buffer for storing the parallel data transferred from the CPU, a shift resister for loading the parallel data to be converted into serial data, and a selector. The buffer supplies an empty flag to the selector when no data is stored therein, so that the selector supplies a signal to the buffer and the shift resister in order to prohibit a load of parallel data from the buffer to the shift resister.
Abstract:
A turbo blower is used in combination with a gas laser oscillation device for machining, e.g., cutting off, workpieces. The turbo blower comprises a shaft (2) having an impeller (1) on one end thereof, a pair of bearings (5, 6) on which the shaft (2) is supported, and a motor (3, 4) for rotating the shaft. Heat radiating fins (11) are mounted on the shaft (2) for radiating the heat which is generated by a rotor (3) of the motor, thus preventing the heat from being transmitted to the bearings (5, 6). The heat radiating fins are forcibly cooled by a portion of a laser gas for thereby greatly increasing the heat radiation efficiency. The service life of the grease in the bearings and the bearings themselves is increased, thus reducing an expenditure of labor for grease replenishment and bearing replacement. The bearings are also increased in reliability.

A bicycle hydraulic brake actuation device includes a hydraulic master cylinder housing having a bore, a lever, a master piston and an adjuster. The lever is pivotally coupled to the hydraulic master cylinder housing for movement between an at rest position and a brake engagement position. The master piston is disposed within the bore and having an adjustment end. The adjuster is operably disposed between the adjustment end of the master piston and a portion of the lever. The adjuster is movable between a plurality of adjustment positions relative to the adjustment end such that with the lever in the at rest position, movement of the adjuster between the plurality of adjustment positions moves the master piston between a corresponding plurality of adjustment positions along an axial length of the bore.

A hydraulic connector arrangement includes a shaft member, a banjo fitting, a pair of sealing members and a banjo fixing member. The shaft member has a hydraulic passageway and an opening that extends from the hydraulic passageway to an outer surface of the shaft member. The banjo fitting rotatably extends around the shaft member covering the opening. The pair of sealing members are disposed between the shaft member and the banjo member and on opposite sides of the opening. The banjo fixing member is coupled to the shaft member to retain the banjo fitting to the shaft member. Further, the banjo fixing member is dimensioned to allow rotation of the banjo relative to the shaft member and the banjo fixing member.

A bicycle hydraulic brake device includes a housing having a master cylinder, a master piston movably mounted in the master cylinder, a brake operating member and an adjustment mechanism. The brake operating member is arranged to move between a rest position and a brake actuating position and to move the master piston in response to movement of the brake operating member to the brake actuating position. The adjustment mechanism is arranged to adjust the rest position and a free stroke of the brake operating member with an initial travel position of the master piston remaining unchanged. The adjustment mechanism includes a first adjustment member that adjusts a length of a free stroke and a second adjustment member that adjusts the rest position of brake operating member without changing the length of the free stroke.

An apparatus for a bicycle brake comprises a housing with a first piston bore, a first piston disposed in the first piston bore, and a first piston rod fixedly attached to the first piston and extending from the first piston toward the outside of the housing. The first piston rod includes a first brake arm coupling portion for coupling to a first brake arm, and an adjustment mechanism adjusts a distance of the first brake arm coupling portion relative to the piston.

Provided are a polarizing plate which has no defects of unevenness and is excellent in optical characteristics as well as in external appearance, and an image display apparatus of high quality using such a polarizing plate. The polarizing plate of the present invention includes a polarizer and a protective layer (A) placed on at least one surface of the polarizer, in which the protective layer (A) is a (meth)acrylic resin layer having a thickness of 1 to 50 μm with a surface hardness of B or more in terms of a pencil hardness, and an adhesive layer having a thickness of 50 to 150 nm is placed between the polarizer and the protective layer (A).

A reversely subliming substance is efficiently collected on a commercial scale from a gas containing the substance. This is achieved by introducing the gas containing the substance into a shell-and-tube collecting apparatus by controlling the resistance offered to the gas during the passage thereof through the cooled tubes retained inside the collecting apparatus or by utilizing gas-introducing tubes excelling in dispersibility.

A die cut roll includes a rotary driving roll having projecting pressure cutting blades on a surface thereof formed in accordance with the shape of a product to be cut to thereby form a die cutter and an anvil roll adapted to receive an edge of each of the projecting pressure cutting blades of the die cutter. The rotary driving roll includes inclined finishing surfaces formed adjacent to a top smooth portion of an edge of each of the projecting pressure cutting blades by a grinding process so that the inclined finishing surfaces have grinding flaws which make an angle &phgr; of 50°-90° to ridgelines defining the top smooth portion.

A solid state image sensing device, comprises: an n-type semiconductor substrate (11), a p-type well (12) formed on a surface of the semiconductor substrate, and a p.sup.+ -type diffusion layer (13, 21) having an impurity concentration higher than that of the well. In particular, the P.sup.+ -type diffusion layer (13) is formed so as to cover at least a part of circumference of an n-type diffusion layer (17) of a load transistor (N3) formed in the well (12) as a source follower circuit. Instead, the P.sup.+ -type diffusion layer (21) is formed between the n-type diffusion layer (17) of the load transistor (N3) and the semiconductor substrate (11). In both the cases, since the n-type diffusion layer (17) of the load transistor (N3) of the source follower circuit is covered with the second conductivity diffusion layer (13, 21) higher in impurity concentration than that of the well, even when a pulse is applied to the semiconductor substrate during electronic shutter operation, the p-type well (12) is not depleted, so that it is possible to prevent punch through current (I) from flowing from the n-type diffusion layer (17) of the load transistor (N3) to the n-type substrate (11).
