Abstract:
A machine (A) includes a frame (16) and a platform (58) on which a boom assembly (B) is mounted. Two arms (332) of a U-shaped pivotal member (330) are pivotably mounted to the frame (16) about a first pivot axis (380) perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the frame (16). A front end (302) of a mounting plate (310) is pivotably connected to an intermediate section (336) of the pivotal member (330) about a second pivot axis (382) perpendicular to and spaced from the pivot axis (380). Two rams (400) are mounted on opposite sides of a rear end (304) of the mounting plate (310). Each ram (400) includes a lower end (404) pivotably connected to the frame (16) and an upper end (402) pivotably connected to one of the sides of the mounting plate (310). The boom assembly (B), the mounting plate (310), and the pivotal member (330) pivot about the first pivot axis (380) and/or the second pivot axis (382) relative to the frame (16) due to relative movement of the rams (400).
Abstract:
A permanent magnet rotor assembly includes a rotor and a plurality of permanent magnet pole assemblies positioned against the rotor. Each of the permanent magnet pole assemblies includes a magnetic block and an encapsulating member that substantially encapsulates the magnetic block.
Abstract:
An electrical machine is provided. The electrical machine includes a rotor comprising an inner rotor having a plurality of inner rotor poles and an outer rotor having a plurality of outer rotor poles. The electrical machine further comprises a stator configured to modulate a magnetic flux and to transmit torque to inner rotor and the outer rotor, the stator comprising a stator core interposed concentrically between the inner rotor and the outer rotor; a multiple of stator windings disposed in a plurality of stator slots, the stator windings configured to form a multiple of stator poles. The stator further comprises a plurality of stator teeth interposed between the plurality of stator slots, wherein an arithmetic sum or difference of twice number of stator teeth and a number of the stator poles equals a number of rotor poles.
Abstract:

An organic light emitting display device that is used as a flat panel display and usable in a portable terminal that employs two separate display-panels. The organic light emitting display device has a first display panel and a second display panel provided on the same surface thereof; a touch screen panel (TSP) formed integrally on the first and second display panels; and one controller controlling the first and second display panels.
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing machine, such as a peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis machine, includes a dispenser or cassette that pumps a medical fluid for dialysis or other treatments for patients. The machine includes and uses an autoconnect device for connecting containers of liquid, such as bags of dialysis fluid or medication fluids, to the machine, while maintaining the sterility of the connection. The autoconnect device removes the cap from the fluid bag and pierces the scaling membrane on tubing from the bag. This makes it easier for patients to receive treatment, especially home treatment. Other embodiments are useful for dispensing other liquids from other types of dispensing or pumping machines.

The autoconnect device removes the cap from the fluid bag and pierces a sealing membrane on tubing from the bag. This makes it easier for patients to receive treatment, especially home treatment. The cassettes preferably have tubing ports with integral spikes for piercing the membrane on tubing from bags of liquids. The ports may be staggered for sequential engagement with the spikes. Other embodiments are useful for dispensing other liquids from other types of dispensing or pumping machines.
Abstract:
Against this backdrop systems and methods have been developed for identifying popular segments of media objects. A remix system is provided to users allowing the easy remixing of a library of media objects. The remixes created by the users are recorded. From this information, the relative popularity of the segments and media objects in the library are identified based on how often they appear in the user-generated remixes. Actions may then be automatically taken related to the popularity of segments and media objects such as changing payment terms, alerting users of the popular content, and notifying interested parties of the popular or unpopular content.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to support communication between components in different clock domains having a rational clock frequency ratio of N/D. In one embodiment, a combination of integer phase generators are employed to produce phase control signals during an overall cycle having N phases, wherein the overall cycle is a combination of primary cycles having D phases and an adjustment cycle having R phases, wherein R is the remainder of N/D. For clock frequency ratios of less than 2:1, a combination of 2:1 and 1:1 phase generators are employed. Clocking signals are generated by phase generator logic to provide timing control between communicating components in the different clock domains. In one embodiment, the phase generator logic is implemented in a programmable phase generator.
Abstract:
A brushless exciter for a synchronous generator or motor generally includes a stator and a rotor rotatably disposed within the stator. The rotor has a field winding and a voltage rectifying bridge circuit connected in parallel to the field winding. A plurality of firing circuits are connected the voltage rectifying bridge circuit. The firing circuit is configured to fire a signal at an angle of less than 90° or at an angle greater than 90°. The voltage rectifying bridge circuit rectifies the AC voltage to excite or de-excite the field winding.
