Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for low-complexity encoding (compression) of broad class of signals, which are typically not well modeled as sparse signals in either time-domain or frequency-domain. First, the signal can be split in time-segments that may be either sparse in time domain or sparse in frequency domain, for example by using absolute second order differential operator on the input signal. Next, different encoding strategies can be applied for each of these time-segments depending in which domain the sparsity is present.

An electrical circuit for protecting an electrical load from overload current is provided. The system includes a voltage transformer configured to receive AC mains voltage from an electric mains supply and further configured to apply reduced voltage to the electrical load. A control switch comprising metal contacts is connected to the voltage transformer. The control switch is configured to facilitate application of reduced value of AC mains voltage to the electrical load. A reduced value of current flowing through the electrical load is measured by a current transformer connected in series with the electrical load. The reduced value of current is then used for estimating a current consumption value in event of AC mains voltage being directly applied to the electrical load. A control signal is then used for disconnecting the electrical circuit if the estimated current consumption value is greater than threshold overload current value.

For wiring web widgets of a web mashup application, a web widget registry may be generated based on one or more properties of the web widgets of the web mashup application. Based on the web widget registry, the web widgets of the web mashup application may be wired together, without requiring input from a user. Cycles among the web widgets may also be detected and removed.

Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to a system and method for adaptively assigning multiple contacts to an agent determined by that agent's current metrics data or effectiveness measure. In one embodiment, there is provided a method for adaptively assigning multiple contacts to an agent in a contact center, comprising providing a reporting engine containing an agent's metrics; providing an assignment engine for assigning multiple contacts to the agent based upon the agent's metrics received from the reporting engine; storing each contact being served by the agent with at least one agent metrics element to be measured by the reporting engine; updating the agent's metrics in the reporting engine based upon the measured at least one metrics element; comparing the agent's updated metrics with stored target metrics; and assigning multiple contacts to the agent when the agent's metrics is within the target metrics.

In one example, an apparatus includes a processor configured to extract a first set of one or more keypoints from a first set of blurred images of a first octave of a received image, calculate a first set of one or more descriptors for the first set of keypoints, receive a confidence value for a result produced by querying a feature descriptor database with the first set of descriptors, wherein the result comprises information describing an identity of an object in the received image, and extract a second set of one or more keypoints from a second set of blurred images of a second octave of the received image when the confidence value does not exceed a confidence threshold. In this manner, the processor may perform incremental feature descriptor extraction, which may improve computational efficiency of object recognition in digital images.

An integrated transaction module associated with an entity allows for consolidating and using information related to management of transactions. The integrated transaction system incorporates a transaction viewer for displaying information such as the companies involved in the transaction, level of interest shown by potential clients in hiring the entity to manage the transaction, whether or not the companies involved in the transaction present any conflict-of-interest for the transaction management company, and any attachments that may be relevant to the transaction. In addition, the integrated transaction system incorporates a transaction team conflicts checker to determine whether or not any of the team members involved in the transaction pose a conflict-of-interest and a best client analyzer for determining which of several potential clients offer the most benefits to the transaction management organization.
