Abstract:
In certain aspects, the present disclosure relates to the insight that a polypeptide comprising a ligand-binding portion of the extracellular domain of activin-like kinase I (ALK1) polypeptide may be used to inhibit angiogenesis in vivo, particularly in mammals suffering angiogenesis-related disorders. The disclosure also identifies ligands for ALK1 and demonstrates that such ligands have pro-angiogenic activity, and antibodies that inhibit receptor-ligand interaction.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to Cerberus/Coco polypeptides or variants thereof for use in treating a variety of disorders associated with myostatin, nodal and GDF-11.
Abstract:
Provided herein are glycovariant Fc fusion proteins having increased serum half lives. Also provided are methods for increasing the serum half life of an Fc fusion protein by introducing one or more non-endogenous glycosylation sites.
Abstract:
In certain aspects, the present invention provides compositions and methods for promoting bone growth and increasing bone density, as well as for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
Additionally, the disclosure demonstrates that inhibitors of ALK1 may be used to increase pericyte coverage in vascularized tissues, including tumors and the retina. The disclosure also identifies ligands for ALK1 and demonstrates that such ligands have pro-angiogenic activity, and describes antibodies that inhibit receptor-ligand interaction.
Abstract:
Method and system for incremental backup of data containers with fixed length records is provided. Initially, a backup application copies all stored data containers to create an initial backup container. A data structure corresponding to the first backup operation is also created. The data structure maintains unique file identifiers for each data container and information regarding when a record was added. The data structure is created and maintained by an application that also creates, updates, and modifies the fixed length records. The application updates the base data structure when records are added to a data container, after the initial backup. For a next backup operation, the initial data structure is compared to an updated data structure that is current at the next backup time. The comparison identifies the new records that were added (or updated) since the initial backup operation. The backup application then incrementally copies the new records.
Abstract:
A method of employee resource planning includes consolidating and defining a demand for employee resources needed to accomplish a potential project in terms of a plurality of jobs and a supply of employee resources in terms of a plurality of employees, each job and each employee having a plurality of job attributes uniformly categorized into indices. Employees in the supply are mapped to corresponding jobs in the demand according to the job attributes.
Abstract:
In certain aspects, the present invention provides compositions and methods for increasing red blood cell and/or hemoglobin levels in vertebrates, including rodents and primates, and particularly in humans.
Abstract:
Management of one or more storage devices is achieved by first identifying each device by its make and model, and then establishing a database containing information about that device, such as (a) operational rules, (b) commands and (c) processing routines. From the information obtained from the database, a Graphical User Interface is created for display to afford a user at least one menu option for selection. Upon selecting the one menu option, the user obtains at least one of (a) a display of information associated with the identified storage device, and (b) execution of at least one process to control, at least in part, the operation of the identified storage device. The user's selection is processed and the Graphical User Interface is automatically updated in response to the processing of the user's selected menu option.
