Abstract:
A wireless device has at least first and second radio systems. A first of the radio systems provides an indication for a second of the radio systems that it is transmitting or is about to transmit. The actual interference caused by transmissions by the first radio system to operation of the second radio system is measured, and/or the likely interference caused by transmissions by the first radio system to operation of the second radio system is estimated. The behaviour of at least one of the first and second radio systems is modified in order to reduce the interference depending on the measured actual interference or estimated likely interference.
Abstract:
A wireless device has two or more radio systems and SIM channels. At least a part of the first radio system can be shut down to reduce the power consumed by the device. This occurs if the first radio system is unable to obtain suitable service for the first SIM channel and the second radio system is at least one of (i) providing at least some service on the second SIM channel for the device, and (ii) capable of searching for service for the first radio system.
Abstract:
For transmitting information about the neighbouring cells to mobile stations, a base station of a cellular radio system creates a message (27, 27′) containing information about the neighbouring cells and transmits it to the mobile station. In addition to the transmission frequencies used in the neighbouring cells, the base station includes in the message other information characterizing the neighbouring cells (32a, 32b, 32c, 34). In particular, the base station includes in the message information about the quality of service offered to mobile stations by each of the neighbouring cells mentioned in the message. On the basis of the message, the mobile station makes a preliminary selection of a group of the most advantageous new cells and performs measurements among this preliminary selection in order to find a suitable new cell (41, 47). If the measurements show that there is at least one suitable new cell among the preliminary selection, the mobile station selects a new cell from this group (42). If the measurements show that there are no suitable new cells in this group, the mobile station selects a new cell from another group of cells than the preliminary selection (43, 48).

Abstract:
A modem is provided for a wireless device that is capable of providing service for at least two SIMs. The modem has at least a first set of modem components and a second set of modem components. The modem selectively reconfigures the arrangement of the plural sets of modem components. In a first configuration, the first set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a first SIM of the wireless device and the second set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a second SIM of the wireless device. This allows active wireless connections to be made on behalf of both SIMs simultaneously by the sets of modem components. In a second configuration, the first set of modem components and the second set of modem components provide wireless connection service for the first SIM.

Abstract:
A wireless device has at least a first modem and a second modem and at least a first SIM and a second SIM. The first modem supports a different level of service than the second modem. A processing system of the wireless device selectively reconfigures the connection of the first modem and the second modem to the SIMs. In a first mapping configuration, the first SIM is connected to the first modem and the second SIM is connected to the second modem. In a second mapping configuration, the second SIM is disconnected from the second modem, and the first SIM is disconnected from the first modem and is connected to the second modem thereby to obtain a different level of service for the first SIM than in the first mapping configuration.
Abstract:
Cellular radio system base stations (10, 12) offer various service levels and transmit control messages (14) indicating said service levels. Terminals (20) store information (22) about previous connections and, based on that information or on their own capability, produce a prediction on the service level required by the next connection. A terminal selects a cell such that the service level in the cell matches the terminal's prediction on the service level required.
