    摘要: An osteosynthesis system for vertebral arthrodesis, having at least one vertebral compression or distraction bar capable of extending over a portion at least of the rachis; at least one vertebral anchoring member having an end head with a spherical surface, an intermediate shank and a vertebral anchoring portion; and, associated with each anchoring member, a common support for receiving, coupling and immobilizing the vertebral anchoring member and the bar, the common support including a first concave housing for receiving the bar, a second concave housing, for receiving the spherical head, and a screwthreaded member, for immobilization of the bar and the anchoring member on the support, the immobilization member having at least one nut which is screwed onto a screwthreaded portion of the support. The first housing is disposed to the exterior of the screwthreaded portion of the support and is open laterally and upwardly, in opposite relationship to the rachis, so that the bar is immobilized by a peripheral portion of the nut.

    摘要: A device for spinal osteosynthesis includes an elongated bar having two parallel, spaced longitudinal slots extending parallel to the bar length. The slots define a central bar branch and two side bar branches flanking the central bar branch. A plurality of fasteners extend from the bar; each fastener has a shank to be implanted; a head provided at an end of the shank; and a groove provided in the fastener head. The groove has a bottom and divides the head into two leg portions. The central bar branch is received by the groove and is in engagement with the bottom thereof. The leg portions extend through the slots and straddle the central bar branch. A nut is secured to the head of each fastener and abuts a surface of the bar for tightening the fastener to the bar.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for customizing an intervertebral implant includes the initial step of obtaining a 3D anatomy of a series of vertebrae including an abnormal vertebra in a computer. The 3D anatomy of the series is then repositioned in the computer to eliminate the deformity caused by the abnormal vertebra. It is next determined whether a superior or inferior surface of the abnormal vertebra is an abnormal surface which causes the deformity, whereby an approximate gap between the abnormal surface and a desired normal surface is determined. Using that gap determination, a custom implant is constructed to engage the abnormal surface and fill the determined gap. Thus, when the implant is implanted between the abnormal surface and an adjacent surface of an adjacent vertebrae, the deformity is substantially compensated for. The implant may have articulation between the endplates to allow relative movement therebetween.
