    摘要: Light-emitting semiconductor devices comprising a substrate and a p-n junction structure formed on the substrate are described. The p-n junction structure is made of a combination of a wide gap semiconductor layer made of a p-type chalcopyrite semiconductor of the formula, (Cu.sub.a Ag.sub.1-a)(Al.sub.b Ga.sub.1-b)(Se or S).sub.2 wherein 0.ltoreq.a.ltoreq.1 and 0.ltoreq.b.ltoreq.1, and an n-type II-VI semiconductor of the formula, (Zn.sub.c Cd.sub.1-c)(S.sub.d Se.sub.1-d or Se.sub.d Te.sub.1-d) wherein 0.ltoreq.c.ltoreq.1 and 0.ltoreq.d.ltoreq.1. By this, light-emitting diodes are obtained. When an active layer is provided between the n and p-type layers, semiconductor laser devices are obtained. These devices are capable of emitting blue light to UV light.

    摘要: A method of detecting a reference angular position of a rotary body. Two detectable portions are spaced apart from each about the periphery by a predetermined angle in the rotational direction thereof. Two detection signals and produced from two detectors spaced apart from each other by the same angular distance as the detectable portions in the rotational direction of the rotary body in the vicinity of the locus of the detectable portions. It is first detected that at least one of the detectors produces a detection signal and thereafter it is determined that the rotary body takes a reference angular position when both of the detectors produce the detection signals.

    摘要: A device for measuring a physical value, such as a vibratory gyroscope, is provided. The device comprises a vibrator; a driving means for exciting a driving vibration in the vibrator; a detecting means for obtaining an output signal based on a detection vibration excited in the vibrator in response with the physical value; and a detection circuit for processing the output signal to provide a detection signal corresponding with the physical value. The vibrator has at least one bending vibration arms 1A and 1B vibrating in bending mode along a specified plane (X-Y plane). The bending vibration arm comprises at least a pair of base parts 2A, 2B and a connecting part 3 connecting the base parts 2A, 2B. The connecting and base parts define a pair of recesses 8A, 8B.
