Abstract: The present invention provides a display device and a television device with which it is possible to reduce the thickness of the device profile while also realizing desirable acoustic characteristics. This display device includes: a first plate-shaped object; a display module including a display element and a second plate-shaped object that supports the display element, the display module being disposed so as to face the first plate-shaped object; a liquid layer formed by sealing up a liquid between the first plate-like object and the display module; and a vibrator provided to the first plate-shaped object and/or the display module. The loss coefficient of the display device at 25° C. is 1×10−2 or greater and a thickness ratio between the first plate-shaped object and the display module is from 1:10 to 10:1.

Abstract: The glass sheet composite of the present invention includes at least two sheets, a liquid layer held between two adjacent sheets of the at least two sheets, and a seal material disposed between the two sheets so as to seal up the liquid layer, in which at least one of the two sheets is a glass sheet, the glass sheet composite including a light-shielding part disposed so as to overlay a boundary between the liquid layer and the seal material when the glass sheet composite is viewed in a plan view. Because of this, the boundary can be concealed, and this not only results in an improvement in designability and a wider choice of materials for the liquid layer and the seal material.

Abstract: A carrier substrate to be used, when manufacturing a member for an electronic device on a surface of a substrate, by being bonded to the substrate, includes at least a first glass substrate. The first glass substrate has a compaction described below of 80 ppm or less. Compaction is a shrinkage in a case of subjecting the first glass substrate to a temperature raising from a room temperature at 100° C./hour and to a heat treatment at 600° C. for 80 minutes, and then to a cooling to the room temperature at 100° C./hour.

Abstract: A glass sheet composite includes a first glass sheet, a second sheet disposed opposite the first glass sheet, and a liquid layer formed by sealing up a liquid between the first glass sheet and the second sheet, in which the glass sheet composite has a plurality of vibration areas that are independent of each other in a plan view. The glass sheet composite is a diaphragm including at least one vibrator disposed on one side or both sides of the glass sheet composite. The glass sheet composite enables independent vibration at each of the vibration areas, and enables not only stereophonic or multiphonic reproduction but also local reproduction to be performed along with images. Since the diaphragm includes a vibrator, this diaphragm is excellent in sound reproduction.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an alkali-free glass substrate, in which when two arbitrary sites in one main surface thereof are selected, an absolute value of a difference between a thermal shrinkage ratio in an arbitrary direction at one site and a thermal shrinkage ratio in a direction orthogonal to the arbitrary direction at another site is 2 ppm or less, provided that the thermal shrinkage ratio is calculated by measuring a deformation amount in a measuring direction of the glass substrate between before and after a heat treatment of raising a temperature from normal temperature to 600° C. at 100° C./hour, holding the glass substrate at 600° C. for 80 minutes, and lowering the temperature from 600° C. to normal temperature at 100° C./hour.
