Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for New Radio (NR) communications above a 52.6 GHz carrier frequency, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling to obtain a cyclic shift value in time domain. The cyclic shift value is associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) antenna port (AP) of a plurality of available DM-RS APs. A single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence corresponding to the DM-RS AP is generated using a base sequence and the cyclic shift value. The single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence is encoded with uplink data for transmission to a base station using a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using a carrier above the 52.6 GHz carrier frequency.

Abstract: Selection of time-frequency resources, for autonomous mode operation of V2V UEs, may be performed based on measurements of power transmitted by other UEs and received sidelink control information (SCI) transmitted by the other UEs. Based on these measurements, the UE may selectively exclude spectrum resources, from the set of possible resources, to obtain a final set of resources from which the UE may select resources to use for transmitting. In some implementations, the exclusion of the resources may be based on an iterative operation in which a power threshold value is incrementally modified until a candidate number of resources are available. Additionally, in some implementations, UE priority assignments may be used to obtain the power threshold value for a particular UE.

Abstract: Techniques for adjacent channel interference mitigation are described. In one embodiment, for example, a user equipment (UE) may comprise logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to associate the UE with a pico evolved node B (eNB) in a time-division duplex (TDD) picocell, identify an incongruent uplink (UL) sub-frame for the picocell, and select an enhanced UL transmit power for the incongruent UL sub-frame. Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to perform demodulation of device-to-device (D2D) communication signals or LTE uplink signals in a User Equipment. In a transmitter, demodulation reference signal (DMRS) generation circuitry is provided for selective insertion of DMRS signals in resource elements of resource blocks of the signal for transmission using a pattern of resource elements spanning at least one of the resource blocks such that a minimum temporal spacing between consecutive symbols of the demodulation reference signal pattern is less than one slot. In a receiver the DMRS signals are used to perform channel estimation. A user equipment having the DMRS generation circuitry is provided. A computer program product is also provided. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: A vehicle may wirelessly communicate with another vehicle via a physical channel (a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) channel) that is robust and reliable under high mobility propagation conditions. The physical channel may be created by modifying an existing long-term evolution (LTE) physical channel, such as an LTE sidelink (SL) channel. For instance, the V2V physical channel may be created by increasing, by a particular factor, the subcarrier spacing of legacy LTE channels (e.g., from 15 kilohertz (kHz) to 30 kHz). Additionally, a symbol duration and a fast Fourier transform (FFT) size for the V2V physical channel may each be reduced by the same factor. Doing so may enable the V2V physical channel to be implemented without significant modifications to other aspects of the LTE standard.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may select, from a plurality of short transmission time intervals (TTIs), a short TTI for a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) sidelink transmission by the UE. The short TTIs may occur within a legacy TTL. The short TTIs may be allocated for V2V sidelink transmissions by nonlegacy UEs. The legacy TTI may be allocated for V2V sidelink transmissions by legacy UEs. The UE may transmit, in accordance with the legacy TTI, a legacy physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) to indicate, to legacy UEs, the V2V sidelink transmission by the UE. The UE may transmit, in accordance with the selected short TTI, a short PSCCH (sPSCCH) to indicate, to non-legacy UEs, the V2V sidelink transmission by the UE.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may attempt to decode sidelink synchronization signals (SLSSs) received on component carriers (CCs) of a carrier aggregation. In one configuration, synchronization resources for SLSS transmissions may be aligned across the CCs at subframe boundaries in time, restricted to a portion of the CCs, and restricted to a same sub-frame. The UE may, for multiple CCs, determine a priority level for the CC based on indicators in the SLSSs received on the CC. The UE may select, from the CCs on which one or more SLSSs are decoded, the CC for which the determined priority level is highest. The UE may determine a reference timing for sidelink communication based on the one or more SLSSs received on the selected CC.
