Abstract: An embodiment for user equipment that receives a plurality of measurement gap repetition patterns from a network. Each measurement gap repetition pattern may be assigned to a different frequency of the network. The plurality of measurement gap repetition patterns may include skipping measurement patterns. Further embodiments may include the user equipment receiving a repetition period in a measurement object frame or receiving a plurality of measurement gap repetition patterns in which the measurement gaps are non-colliding with measurement gaps of other repetition patterns assigned to the user equipment.

Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media for use in a wireless network for radio link monitoring for high speed user equipment (UE). For example, some embodiments are directed to the UE including radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry coupled to the radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to monitor a downlink associated with a cell using a reference signal and estimate a downlink radio link quality associated with the downlink. The processor circuitry can further be configured to compare the estimated downlink radio link quality with a threshold. The processor circuitry can further be configured to trigger an out-of-sync operation in response to the downlink radio link quality being worse than the threshold. The threshold can include a value less than 10%.

Abstract: An approach is described for a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE includes radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry coupled to the radio front end circuitry. The processor circuitry receives a reference signal from a source device via a radio link, wherein the reference signal is one of the synchronization signal block (SSB) signal or channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS). The processor circuitry measures a quality of the reference signal, and measures an evaluation time of the reference signal. The processor circuitry determines a first indicator of the radio link based on the quality of the reference signal, and determine a second indicator of the radio link based on the evaluation time of the reference signal. The processor circuitry then determines a status of a connection of the radio link based on the first indicator and the second indicator of the radio link, and generate a message based the status of the connection. The radio front end circuitry then transmits the message to the source device.
