The connection portion includes a retaining ring extending radially outward from the connection portion, with the retaining ring configured to securely connect the infusion adapter to the infusion fluid container to substantially prevent disconnection of the infusion adapter from the infusion fluid container once the infusion adapter is connected to the infusion fluid container. The retaining ring includes an indicator configured to provide visualization of insertion of the connection portion into an injection port of an infusion fluid container.

Abstract: An infusion adapter for connection with an infusion fluid container includes a connection portion configured to engage an injection port of an infusion fluid container, and a port configured to connect to an intravenous line, with the port in fluid communication with the connection portion. The connection portion includes a retaining ring extending radially outward from the connection portion, with the retaining ring configured to securely connect the infusion adapter to the infusion fluid container to substantially prevent disconnection of the infusion adapter from the infusion fluid container once the infusion adapter is connected to the infusion fluid container. Abstract: A connector system for a medical device includes a first connector having an elongate opening, and a second connector including a lock portion, where the first connector is movable relative to the second connector between an initial position where the first connector is not in fluid communication with the second connector and an activated position where the first connector is in fluid communication with the second connector. The system also includes a locking member connected to the first connector. The locking member is transitionable between an unlocked position where the second connector is movable within the elongate opening of the first connector and a locked position where the locking member is configured to engage the lock portion of the second connector to lock the first connector to the second connector in the activated position. The locking member comprises a spring body received by the elongate opening of the first connector.

Abstract: A syringe adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end with the first end configured to be secured to a first container, a cannula having a first end and a second end with the second end of the cannula positioned within the housing, and a collet having a first end and a second end. At least a portion of the collet is received within the housing. The collet includes a body defining a passageway, a membrane received by the passageway, and a locking member connected to the body of the collet. The membrane has a body with a first end and a second end. The body of the membrane defines a passageway. The collet is movable from a first position where the locking member is open to receive a mating connector to a second position where radially outward movement of the locking member is restricted.

The system also includes a locking member connected to the first connector.
