摘要: A method of pumping fluid out of a bioprocess vessel includes providing a bioprocess vessel defining an interior volume and having a bottom surface containing an aperture or port therein for the passage of fluid and a pump head integrally formed with or bonded to the bottom surface of the bioprocess vessel or secured to the port, wherein the pump head further comprises an inlet and an outlet with the inlet in fluid communication with the interior volume, the pump head further including a plurality of diaphragms, each diaphragm associated with a check-valve, wherein sequential actuation of the plurality of diaphragms pumps fluid from the interior volume of the bioprocess vessel into the inlet and out of the outlet. The plurality of diaphragms are actuated with a motor secured to the pump head. In other embodiments, the pump head is secured to the bioprocess vessel with fasteners.

摘要: A liquid pump dispenser includes a vial adapter connected with a pump dispenser unit including a piston-type dispenser pump. When the vial adapter is coupled to the neck of a medical vial by latching, a piercing mandrel pierces a stopper sealing the vial. A fluid-tight communication between the vial adapter and pump dispenser unit is established by a flexible connecting tube, which helps to compensate mechanical tolerances and any misalignment or between the vial adapter and pump dispenser unit during assembly or use. The liquid pump dispenser can be used in an upside-down orientation of the medical vial without problems such as leakage or dripping at an outlet nozzle, and ensures a precise dosage of the liquid pumped from the medical vial. The vial adapter together with the pump dispenser unit can be pre-assembled and packaged as a unit.

The sealing element includes a foot section received by a recess of the connector, a shoulder engaging an inner surface of the attachment member, and a flange engaging a support surface of the connector. The sealing element also includes a cylindrical body extending from the shoulder to the flange along an insertion direction and, where the cylindrical body deforms to create a flow path through the sealing element, and a sealing head defines an opening that transitions from a closed state to an open state when the cylindrical body deforms.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.

摘要: This invention provides a means by which correct dosages of emergency medication can be provided to children under emergency situations. A color- and size-coded set of cylinders is provided where the colors match the color codes of the Broselow® Pediatric Emergency Tape, a common method by which the proper dosage for child is estimated based on the child's height. Each type of medication in the emergency kit has its own color-coded set of cylinders, such that once emergency medical personnel measure the child and determine which medication to use, all they need to do is grab the correct cylinder based on the color (which has already been determined from the Broselow® measurement). The invention allows emergency medical personnel to safely, efficiently, quickly, and accurately deliver the correct dosage of one or more medications to a child under emergency conditions.
