Abstract: A method for adjusting a valve lash in an internal combustion engine includes receiving a first signal generated by a sensor secured to the internal combustion engine, the first signal being indicative of a closing of a valve, receiving a second signal indicative of at least one of an engine speed of the internal combustion engine or a position of a camshaft of the internal combustion engine, and automatically determining an adjusted amount of lash associated with the valve based on the received first signal and the received second signal. The method also includes comparing the adjusted amount of lash to at least one predetermined threshold, and providing, in response to determining that the adjusted amount of lash is greater than the at least one predetermined threshold, a valve lash re-adjustment notification.

Abstract: A system for commissioning a machine such as an internal combustion engine includes commissioning probes, and a user interface having a computer receiving test data from the commissioning probes. The computer is structured to store a commissioning profile for the machine on a memory, and to populate the commissioning profile based on a compensation factor that depends on a difference between a performance response of ancillary equipment connected with the machine and an expected response. The computer outputs a commissioning suitability signal based on comparing the commissioning profile to a target profile.

Abstract: A control system for an engine includes an operational data sensor generating signals indicative of operational data of the engine and a controller communicably coupled with the engine and the operational data sensor. The controller operates the engine based on operational parameters defined by a baseline engine model. The controller receives the signals indicative of the operational data of the engine, and generates a dynamic engine model which defines at least one operational parameter of the engine based on the received operational data of the engine. The controller compares the baseline engine model to the dynamic engine model. The controller determines a difference between the baseline engine model and the dynamic engine model based on the comparison. The controller compares the determined difference to a threshold difference value and operates the engine based on the dynamic engine model, if the determined difference exceeds the threshold difference value.

Abstract: A system for managing a pump arrangement is provided. The system may include at least one pressure sensor configured to generate a pressure signal indicative of a pump pressure of a targeted pump within the pump arrangement, and at least one controller in electrical communication with the pressure sensor. The controller may be configured to receive the pressure signal from the pressure sensor, apply a band pass filter on the pressure signal to filter frequencies associated with untargeted pumps, isolate at least a base frequency of the filtered pressure signal, and detect at least the pump pressure of the targeted pump based on the base frequency.

Abstract: A plurality of generator sets, or gensets, each including an electrical generator operatively associated with a prime mover, are arranged in parallel to generate electrical power for an isolated electrical load. To account for fuel efficiency, emissions considerations or similar consideration associated with the prime movers, an asymmetric load sharing method may be used to regulate operation of the plurality of gensets. A control strategy is configured to allocated real power demands of the electrical load among the plurality of gensets in accordance with the asymmetric load sharing method. The control strategy may account for the reactive power portions of the electrical load in addition to the real power portions.
