Abstract: A power and data connectivity micro grid includes a first power sourcing equipment device having first and second power ports and first and second data ports, and configured to deliver DC power signals to the first and second power ports. The micro grid further includes first and second remote distribution nodes, and first and second splice enclosures, each splice enclosure having a power input port, a data input port, a power tap port, a data tap port, a power output port and a data output port. A first composite power-data cable is coupled between the first power port and the first data port of the first power sourcing equipment device and the power input port and the data input port of the first splice enclosure. A second composite power-data cable is coupled between the second power port and the second data port of the first power sourcing equipment device and the power input port and the data input port of the second splice enclosure. The power tap port and the data tap port of the first splice enclosure are coupled to a power input port and a data input port of the first remote distribution node, respectively.

Abstract: One embodiment is directed to a heterogeneous physical layer management system comprising first devices, each comprising first physical layer information acquisition technology to obtain physical layer information about cabling attached to the first devices. The system further comprises second devices, each comprising second physical layer information acquisition technology to obtain physical layer information about cabling attached to the second devices, wherein the second physical layer information acquisition technology differs from the first physical layer information acquisition technology. The system further comprises a common management application communicatively coupled to the first devices and the second devices, wherein the common management application is configured to aggregate physical layer information from the first devices and the second devices. Another embodiment is directed to providing a physical layer management application as a service hosted by a third party. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The method comprises: ascertaining if an Ethernet connection has been formed with an operating device with the PoE and PoDL hub; if no Ethernet connection has been formed, then sensing whether the operating device is an Ethernet powered device; if the operating device is an Ethernet powered device, then providing power to the operating device; if the operating device is determined not to be an Ethernet powered device, then sensing whether the operating device is a PoDL device; and if the operating device is a PoDL device, then providing power to the operating device.

The application is executable to receive a work order associated with at least one asset among the plurality of networking assets, based on a location of the wearable display device and the work order, display one or more directions to the asset for a wearer of the wearable display device, and display one or more work instructions to be performed on the asset.

Abstract: Systems and methods for distributing power in a power-to-the-edge system architecture are provided. In one embodiment, a system comprises an intelligent power switch configured to couple to a power supply, wherein the intelligent power switch outputs a first differential voltage output; and a plurality of intelligent remote nodes each comprising a management microcontroller (MCU) and a DC-to-DC converter. The intelligent remote nodes each receive the differential voltage output, and are communicatively coupled to a data network. The intelligent power switch comprises a processor executing an intelligent start-up control and switching function and an electrical fault detection function. The intelligent power switch outputs the differential voltage at a first voltage level while the electrical fault detection function monitors the differential voltage output. Based on results of monitoring at the first voltage level, the intelligent power switch switches the output to a second voltage level higher than the first voltage level.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a telecommunications enclosure. The telecommunications enclosure includes a housing defining an interior and including at least one cable port. The telecommunications enclosure also includes a printed circuit board in the interior of the housing and heat generating components on the printed circuit board. The telecommunications enclosure further includes a heat sink assembly in the interior of the housing. The heat sink assembly includes a thermally conductive plate mounted to transfer heat to the housing; and heat sink components extending from a first face of the thermally conductive plate. Each heat sink component corresponds to and is in alignment with one of the heat generating components. The heat sink assembly is a separate component from the housing.

Abstract: A network asset location system and methods of its use and operation are disclosed. In one aspect, the network asset location system includes a mobile application component executable on a mobile device including a camera and a display, the mobile application component configured to receive image data from the camera and display an image on the display based on the image data and overlay information identifying one or more network assets identifiable in the image data. The network asset location system also includes an asset management tracking engine configured to receive the image data and generate the overlay information including an identification of a location of at least one of the one or more network assets within the image.
