    摘要: An interventional medical closure device comprises a first engagement element for engagement with an external surface of a vessel on a first side of an opening through the vessel wall and a second engagement element for engagement with an external surface on a second side of the opening. A closure element extends from the first engagement element, into the vessel, and to the second engagement element to assist in closure of the opening. The device may include a foot element to engage the internal surface of the vessel on both sides of the opening. The foot element may provide a guide with a pathway for the closure element.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for characterizing composite materials for manufacturing quality assurance (QA), periodic inspection during the useful life, or for forensic analysis/material testing. System are provided that relate eddy-current sensor responses to the fiber layup of a composite structure, the presence of impact damage on a composite structure with or without a metal liner, volumetric stress within the composite, fiber tow density, and other NDE inspection requirements. Also provided are systems that determine electromagnetic material properties and material dimensions of composite materials from capacitive sensor inspection measurements. These properties are related to the presence of buried defects in non-conductive composite materials, moisture ingress, aging of the material due to service or environmental/thermal exposure, or changes in manufacturing quality.

    摘要: A limited-bandwidth network electronic data communication server includes an electronic data transmission server and a network terminal in communication with the electronic data transmission server over a communications network. The electronic data transmission server includes a data receiver for receiving a request for transmission of an e-mail attachment to a network terminal over a communications network. The e-mail attachment includes content and data defining the presentation of the content. A data processing system is in communication with the data receiver for converting the e-mail attachment into a less memory-intensive data format. The data processing system is configured to perform the conversion by extracting the content from the e-mail attachment without the presentation data. A data transmitter is in communication with the data processing system for transmitting the extracted content to the network terminal over the communications network without the presentation data.

    摘要: A liquid smoke ink and a method of making the smoke ink is provided. The smoke ink may be applied to a substrate and dried. The substrate may be used as a food, primarily a meat, casing. Liquid smoke is made from a dehydrated liquid smoke, which is a solid smoke. The solid smoke is dissolved in a food grade solvent to create the smoke ink. The smoke ink is applied to a substrate wherein the solvent evaporates. This leaves the smoke flavor on the substrate in an, essentially, fixed position.

    摘要: An approach is provided for supporting integrated voice and data services over a common Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) device. The device includes a network interface that receives a call from a calling party device to a called party device. Also, the device has signaling conversion logic configured to convert between Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling and circuit-switched telephony signaling to support the call, wherein addressing information of the calling party device is preserved in the conversion. The called party device includes one of a telephone station and a SIP client. The device further includes a voice port coupled to the signaling conversion logic and configured to communicate selectively with the telephone station; and a data port configured to communicate selectively with the SIP client.

    摘要: A system diagnostic mode is provided for a security central station receiver that monitors the operations of a large number of individual security systems over a large number of telephone lines. The system diagnostic mode provides the receiver with the capability to test itself for proper operation after it has been initially installed, or on a repeated basis thereafter, to ensure that the receiver at the security central station is fully operational. A plurality of line cards are designed to serve and interface with the large number of telephone lines. The auto test diagnostic mode tests the operation of the central station receiver, and is programmed to automatically dial into each of the plurality of line cards and to send to each line card a number of preformatted test signals using standard reporting formats that are generated by the auto test diagnostic mode. The auto test diagnostic mode is preferably provided on a test line card that generates the preformatted test signals. After the test is completed, the auto test diagnostic mode routes a report on the results of the preformatted tests to an output of the security central station receiver such as an automation system.
