摘要: A catheter includes a proximal shaft, a distal shaft, a pressure sensor, and at least one pressure sensor wire. The proximal shaft is substantially C-shaped such that in cross-section, the proximal shaft includes a first circumferential end, a second circumferential end, and a gap between the first circumferential and circumferential end. The proximal shaft defines a groove configured to receive a guidewire therein. The distal shaft is coupled to the proximal shaft and defines a guidewire lumen therein. The pressure sensor is coupled to the distal shaft. The pressure sensor wire is operably connected to the pressure sensor. A proximal portion of the pressure sensor wire is disposed within a proximal shaft wall of the proximal shaft and a distal portion of the pressure sensor wire is disposed within a distal shaft wall of the distal shaft.

摘要: A contact sensing assembly including a catheter and an electrode including a tip portion and a base portion, and a generally central axis, with the electrode being connected to a distal end of the catheter. Optical sensor(s) may be provided for emitting and/or receiving an optical signal, with a part of the optical signal being transverse to the central axis. Optical interference member(s) may be provided for interfering with the optical signal. A method for sensing contact force exerted by an electrode on a tissue includes directing an optical signal along a portion of a catheter, emitting and/or receiving an optical signal, with a part of the optical signal being at a predetermined angle relative to the central axis, and sensing changes in intensity of the optical signal based on displacement associated with the electrode tip portion based on the contact force exerted by the electrode on the tissue.

摘要: An automated peritoneal dialysis system provides both cycler-assisted peritoneal dialysis treatment and also continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). The system includes a fluid preparation and treatment device with a concentrate dilution components connected to a source of purified water and medicament concentrate. The treatment device has at least one mixing container connected via a pump and valves to the sources, the valves and the pump mixing and diluting the concentrate to form a medicament. An auxiliary port is provided for attaching a CAPD container and for receiving medicament. A controller is programmed to control the fluid preparation and treatment device to implement one or more cycler-assisted peritoneal dialysis treatment cycles using medicament from the mixing container and also to control the preparation of additional dialysate at the end of the cycler-assisted peritoneal dialysis treatment cycles to dispense additional dialysate through the auxiliary port for use in CAPD.

摘要: A control system for an arterial catheter operable to selectively impede blood flow includes a processor and a storage medium accessible to the processor that bears instructions which when executed by the processor cause the processor to execute logic including receiving a first signal representing a physical parameter associated with a patient in whom the catheter is disposed, receiving a second signal representative of time, and causing inflation of a first balloon on the catheter to impede blood flow in the first artery. Based at least in part on the first signal satisfying a first condition, the instructions include causing deflation of the first balloon. Based at least in part on the second signal indicating elapse of a predetermined time period, the instructions include causing deflation of the first balloon regardless of whether the first signal satisfies the first condition.

摘要: An intravascular sensor delivery device for measuring a physiological parameter of a patient, such as blood pressure, within a vascular structure or passage. In some embodiments, the device can be used to measure the pressure gradient across a stenotic lesion or heart valve. For example, such a device may be used to measure fractional flow reserve (FFR) across a stenotic lesion in order to assess the severity of the lesion. The sensor delivery device has a distal sleeve configured to pass or slide over a standard medical guidewire. Some distance back from the sensor and distal sleeve, the device separates from the guidewire to permit independent control of the sensor delivery device and the guidewire. The sensor delivery device can be sized to pass over different sizes of guidewires to enable usage in coronary and peripheral arteries, for example.
