Abstract: In a power supply apparatus, one of a transformer and a first semiconductor device is stacked on the other thereof to constitute a stack assembly. The stack assembly, a second semiconductor device, and a choke coil are located on the major surface. A primary direct-current wire, which connects the first semiconductor device to a direct-current power source, is drawn out from a first predetermined portion of the stack assembly. A primary alternating-current wire, which connects the first semiconductor device and the transformer, is drawn out from a second predetermined portion of the stack assembly. The primary direct-current wire and the primary alternating-current wire are located to be separated from each other via at least a part of the stack assembly.

Abstract: An electric power converter includes a semiconductor module constituting a power conversion circuit, a capacitor electrically connected to the semiconductor module, and a cooling member for cooling the capacitor. The capacitor includes an element body provided with internal electrode, and a pair of end-face-electrodes provided on both end faces of the element body and connected to the internal electrode. The pair of end-face-electrodes are connected with a pair of bus bars, respectively, in a manner of surface contact. The capacitor is disposed in a state where one of the pair of end-face-electrodes is facing the cooling member. The end-face-electrode facing the cooling member is in contact with the cooling member via the bus bar.

Abstract: A power-supply apparatus is provided which includes a transformer, a primary semiconductor unit, a secondary semiconductor unit, and a secondary electronic device. Each of the primary semiconductor unit and the secondary semiconductor units has a plurality of semiconductor devices installed therein. The transformer, the primary semiconductor unit, the secondary semiconductor unit, and the secondary electronic device are electrically joined through connecting conductors. The transformer is laid on the primary semiconductor unit to make a first stack. Similarly, the secondary electronic device is laid on the secondary semiconductor unit. This permits the power-supply apparatus to be reduced in overall size thereof and minimizes adverse effects of electromagnetic noise to ensure the high efficiency in power supply operation.

Abstract: A power supply apparatus includes a transformer which has a primary coil and a secondary coil, a primary side semiconductor component which configures a primary side circuit connected to a side of the primary coil of the transformer, a secondary side semiconductor component which configures a secondary side circuit connected to a side of the secondary coil of the transformer, a choke coil which is connected to the secondary side semiconductor component, and a base plate on which the transformer, the primary side semiconductor component, the secondary side semiconductor component, and the choke coil are mounted. Any two of the transformer, the primary side semiconductor component, the secondary side semiconductor component, and the choke coil configure a first stacked body stacked in a normal direction of the base plate, and other two of the transformer, the primary side semiconductor component, the secondary side semiconductor component, and the choke coil configure a second stacked body stacked in the normal direction of the base plate. The power supply apparatus has a pair of first lines connecting the primary side semiconductor component and the transformer to each other, and a pair of second lines connecting the transformer and the secondary side semiconductor component to each other. The first lines and the second lines respectively have a pair of first current paths and a pair of second current paths which are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other and are configured so that currents flow in the normal direction of the base plate. At least one of the pair of the second current paths is adjacent to at least one of the pair of the first current paths in a second direction orthogonal to a first direction in which the pair of the first current paths are adjacent to each other. The first current paths and the second current paths adjacent to each other in the second direction are configured so that currents flow therethrough in directions opposite to each other.

Abstract: An electric power conversion apparatus has an input and output terminal, and a switch unit, and turns on and off the switch unit to transfer electric power from an electric storage unit connected to the input terminal to a power supply target connected to the output terminal. When reverse conduction current flows in the switch unit, it causes a larger conduction loss in an off state than an on state. The apparatus includes: a control unit that determines whether there is a request for increasing an amount of heat generation due to the electric power transfer, and when it is determined that there is the request, turns off the switch unit in which the reverse conduction current flows during the electric power transfer and, when it is determined that there is no request, turns on the switch unit in which the reverse conduction current flows during the electric power transfer.

Abstract: A control apparatus for a power conversion apparatus acquires a detected voltage of an alternating-current power supply. The control apparatus determines a period from when the detected voltage exceeds a first determination value for determining a zero-up-crossing timing of an actual voltage of the alternating-current power supply until the detected voltage falls below a second determination value for determining a zero-down-crossing timing of the actual voltage to be a period during which the actual voltage has a positive polarity, and determines a period from when the detected voltage falls below the second determination value until the detected voltage exceeds the first determination value to be a period during which the actual voltage has a negative polarity. The first determination value is less than the detected voltage when the actual voltage is zero, and the second determination value is greater than the detected voltage when the actual voltage is zero.

Abstract: A power conversion apparatus includes a power conversion circuit, a choke coil, an auxiliary coil, and a rectifier element. The choke coil is disposed between the power conversion circuit and an input side direct current power source. The auxiliary coil is magnetically coupled to the choke coil and is connected in parallel with an output side circuit. The auxiliary coil is wound in a direction so that an excitation current flows from a negative electrode to a positive electrode of the output side circuit when an excitation current flows from a positive electrode to a negative electrode of the direct current power source through the choke coil. The rectifier element is series connection with the auxiliary coil, and cuts off power supply from the direct current power source to the output side circuit through the auxiliary coil and power supply from the output side circuit to the input side.
