摘要: An improved polycrystalline semiconducting ceramic composition can be produced from a novel powder which comprises a reduced alkaline earth metal titanate doped with a hexavalent metal oxide such as (MO.sub.3) (Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3).sub.x where M is tungsten or molybdenum, and x ranges from 0 to 7. This powder, which has a mean particle size on the order of less than 10 microns, may be liquid phase sintered with lead germanate to produce a ceramic composition having an extremely fine grain size. By reducing the earth metal titanate (either chemically or gaseously) prior to the liquid phase sintering with lead germanate, particle or grain size growth is substantially eliminated, and the grain size of the ceramic composition is similar to the original particle size of the earth metal titanate.

摘要: An improved polycrystalline semiconducting ceramic composition comprises an alkaline earth metal titanate doped with a hexavalent metal oxide such as (MO.sub.3)(Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3).sub.x where M is tungsten or molybdenum, and x ranges from 0 to 7, which is liquid phase sintered with lead germanate to produce internal insulating boundaries. The composition is fine grained and provides thin-layer, multi-layer capacitors that exhibit high dielectric constant values, low dissipation factors, and low temperature and voltage coefficients of capacitance.

摘要: A nozzle is provided for use during a process for cold-dynamic gas spraying a powder material onto a bore surface. In one embodiment, and by way of example only, the nozzle includes a tube and a coating. The tube is configured to direct the powder material to the bore surface and has an inner surface, an axial section, a radial section, and a bend. At least a portion of the inner surface of the axial section defines a converging/diverging flowpath, and the axial section and the radial section are disposed at a predetermined angle relative to one another and include the bend disposed therebetween. The coating is disposed on at least a portion of the tube inner surface and comprises a material to which the powder material does not adhere.

摘要: A technique for creating patterns of material deposited on a surface involves forming a self-assembled monolayer in a pattern on the surface and depositing, via chemical vapor deposition or via sol-gel processing, a material on the surface in a pattern complementary to the self-assembled monolayer pattern. The material can be a metal, metal oxide, or the like. The surface can be contoured, including trenches or holes, the trenches or holes remaining free of self-assembled monolayer while the remainder of the surface is coated. When exposed to deposition conditions, metal or metal oxide is deposited in the trenches or holes, and remaining portions of the article surface remain free of deposition. The technique finds particular use in creation of conductive metal pathways selectively within holes passing from one side of a substrate to another.

摘要: An implement depth control system includes a rotating link pivotally connected to the frame adjacent the depth control cylinder. A cylinder pin contacts and rotates the link when the implement is lowered toward the field operating position. One end of an adjustable length member is threaded through a turnbuckle mounted on the link and contacts an actuator to limit cylinder retraction and set operating depth. The opposite end of the member extends to an easily accessed location on the implement and includes a crank handle for turning the member and thereby adjusting the length between the turnbuckle and actuator to vary the depth setting. An indicator near the crank handle provides an accurate depth indication at any depth setting, and relative depth adjustments may be made quickly while the implement is in the lowered field working position.

摘要: Liquid phase sintering of a mixture comprising a major amount of BaTiO.sub.3 and a minor amount of Pb.sub.5 Ge.sub.3 O.sub.11 at a temperature of 750.degree.-1050.degree. C. provides a heterophasic ceramic body of high dielectric constant and strength, and low dissipation factor. Consequently, relatively inexpensive low melting point metals such as silver and copper can be utilized as electrodes in the fabrication of monolithic multi-layer ceramic capacitors.

摘要: A system and method of filtering lubricant in a lubricant supply system are provided. Lubricant from a lubricant source is directed into and through a coarse filter that is configured to remove, from the lubricant, particulate of at least a first dimension. A fraction of the lubricant discharged from the coarse filter is directed into and through a fine filter that is configured to remove, from the fraction of lubricant, particulate having at least a second dimension that is less than the first dimension. Lubricant discharged from the fine filter is directed back to the lubricant source.

摘要: A gear assembly is provided for use in a metal housing having a bore formed therein. The gear assembly includes a plurality of rotating gear members and at least one bushing for supporting the plurality of rotating gear members. A wear component, defined by a ring-like structure and including an opening defined therein, is provided. The plurality of rotating gear members are disposed within the opening of the wear component. The wear component is received inside of and in close tolerance with the bore. The wear component is in direct contact with the plurality of rotating gear members thereby minimizing damage to an interior surface of the bore.

摘要: The present invention provides methods and materials for use in repairing a worn component having thin walls. One kind of thin wall may be the wall of a cylindrical portion of the component where such wall has a worn inner surface and an opposite outer surface. The method includes the steps of preparing the outer surface of the component for cold spraying; cold spraying material onto the outer surface so as to form a strengthening coating; reaming the inner surface so as to create a repair surface with a repair diameter greater than the inner diameter; and installing an insert on the repair surface. The thickness of the coating is selected so as to impart a desired degree of strength to the wall. The method allows the repair of expensive aluminum castings that would otherwise, because of the thin wall construction, not be suitable for repair.
