A metering apparatus includes a support; a connection apparatus disposed on the support and structured to be electrically connected with a circuit interrupter; a detection apparatus disposed on the support and structured to detect a first operational aspect of the circuit interrupter; a communication apparatus in communication with the detection apparatus, the communication apparatus being disposed on the support; a first bidirectional communications port disposed on a first side of the support and in communication with the communication apparatus; and a second bidirectional communications port disposed on a second side, opposite the first side, of the support and in communication with the communication apparatus. The communication apparatus is structured to communicate to another device via at least one of the first communications port or the second communications port at least a first parameter of the circuit interrupter based at least in part upon the first operational aspect.

A D/C trip assembly for a circuit breaker is provided. The D/C trip assembly includes a magnet, a mounting assembly and an armature assembly. The mounting assembly includes a body, the mounting assembly body including a pivotal coupling. The armature assembly includes a magnetic body and a trip bar linkage, the trip bar linkage extending from the armature assembly body. The armature assembly body is structured to move between a first position, wherein the armature assembly body is close to the magnet, and a second position, wherein the armature assembly body is spaced from the magnet. The trip bar linkage is structured to move between a first position and a second position, the trip bar linkage positions corresponding to the armature assembly body positions. The trip bar linkage is structured to be coupled to a trip bar.

A thermal trip assembly is for an electrical switching apparatus. The electrical switching apparatus includes a housing, separable contacts enclosed by the housing, an operating mechanism for opening and closing the separable contacts, and a number of shunts. The thermal trip assembly includes a load conductor, a bimetal adapted to cooperate with the operating mechanism to open the separable contacts in response to a trip condition, and a bypass heater element structured to be electrically connected to the shunts. The bypass heater element directs the flow of electric current to at least partially bypass the bimetal.

The trip unit cooperates with the operating mechanism and includes an enclosure, a controller, and a cover member having a plurality of indicia. The interface assembly includes at least one adjustment knob assembly having a post member and a ring member, which includes a cutout. The post member has first and second opposing ends. The ring member is disposed on the second end. The adjustment knob assembly pivots among a plurality of positions to adjust the controller. Each position corresponds to a predetermined setting of the trip unit. The ring member substantially overlays all but one of the indicia, which is exposed by the cutout to indicate the adjustment knob assembly position and corresponding trip unit setting.

Circuit breakers include an arc chamber and an arc chute comprising a plurality of arc plates in the arc chamber. The circuit breakers also include a line conductor assembly with at least one arc runner attached to a line conductor in the arc chamber. The arc runner can extend below but adjacent to a bottom arc plate to thereby guide a respective arc into the arc chute.
