    摘要: A method of assembling a motor stall correction system includes coupling an inverter-based electric power generation device to an electric power inverter assembly. The method also includes coupling the electric power inverter assembly to at least one induction motor. The method further includes operatively coupling at least one controller to the electric power inverter assembly. The controller is programmed to transmit electric current from the inverter-based electric power generation device to the electric power inverter assembly. The controller is also programmed to transmit real current and reactive current from the electric power inverter assembly to the induction motor. The controller is further programmed to modulate the real current and the reactive current as a function of at least one of an electric power grid frequency and an electric power grid voltage.

    摘要: A circuit breaker is provided for protecting dynamoelectric machinery. The circuit breaker includes a feeder input connection connected to a feeder line. The feeder line is connected to a dynamoelectric machine. A substation connection is connected to a substation bus. An interrupting breaker is connected between the feeder input connection and the substation connection. A shorting switch is connected to the feeder input connection, and an impedance device is connected to the shorting switch and a ground or neutral. The impedance device, shorting switch and ground/neutral reduces excessive voltages on the feeder line when the feeder line is isolated from the substation by the circuit breaker, and the impedance device is selected to reduce a torque transient experienced by the dynamoelectric machine.

    摘要: A method and system for reducing the cost of a combined offshore wind generation plant is provided by coupling the AC output of plural wind turbine generators to a single AC-DC converter prior to transmission of the DC power to an onshore DC-AC inverter site. The wind speed is monitored at selected locations within the wind plant, optionally, at selected turbine generators, and the operating frequency of the AC-DC converter is adjusted in accordance with a combine wind speed signal to permit operation of the plural wind turbines as a group. AC-DC followed by DC-AC conversions decouples the AC frequency produced by the wind turbines and allows the turbines to operate at variable frequency as a group.

    摘要: A torsional protection system and method is provided for protecting a wind turbine from undesired torsional oscillations. The torsional protection system includes a detection processing stage that isolates energy contained within a measured signal to a frequency band of interest. An input to the detection processing stage is obtained from at least one component in the wind turbine. A protection logic stage compares the energy to a threshold level to get an indication of an amount of the energy that is above a predetermined threshold. The torsional content of the signal can be measured and monitored so that if the torsional content exceeds the predetermined threshold for a predetermined time an alarm or trip signal can be generated.

    摘要: A power flow controller seeks to inject a voltage V.sub.ser on a transmission path between a first electrical area and a second electrical area, in order to cause a desired power flow into the second electrical area. The power flow controller (20) includes a series transformer (40), a regulating transformer (44), a rotary phase shifting transformer network (44), and a control system (46). The rotary phase shifting transformer network (44) includes a first rotary phase shifting transformer (102.sub.1) and a second rotary phase shifting transformer (102.sub.2). The first rotary phase shifting transformer and the second rotary phase shifting transformer have first terminals (windings of one of either rotors or stators) connected in parallel to a regulating winding 62) of the regulation transformer. Second terminals (windings of the other of rotors or stators) are connected in series with an excited winding (52) of the series transformer. The control system applies control signals to the first rotary phase shifting transformer and the second rotary phase shifting transformer to obtain desired phase angles .theta..sub.E1, .theta..sub.E2 between the rotor (110) and stator (112) of each transformer, and thereby achieve an effective phase shift .theta..sub.PFC and a voltage magnitude ratio T.sub.PFC between the first electrical area and the second electrical area.
