摘要: Provided is a power conversion system that can suppress a fault in a short-circuiting switch that bypasses a fault unit and enhance the reliability and redundancy of the system. The power conversion system is provided with a plurality of power converter units that are formed by using semiconductor switch elements and are connected in series, and comprises: switch elements that are provided to input terminals and/or output terminals of the power converter units and bypass the power converter units; and overvoltage suppressing elements which are connected in parallel with the switch elements and in which conducting states are changed by an application of a prescribed voltage.

摘要: Distributed maximum power point tracking systems, structures, and processes are provided for power generation structures, such as for but not limited to a solar panel arrays. In an exemplary solar panel string structure, distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) modules are provided, such as integrated into or retrofitted for each solar panel. The DMPPT modules provide panel level control for startup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown, and further provide flexible design and operation for strings of multiple panels. The strings are typically linked in parallel to a combiner box, and then toward and enhanced inverter module, which is typically connected to a power grid. Enhanced inverters are controllable either locally or remotely, wherein system status is readily determined, and operation of one or more sections of the system are readily controlled. The system provides increased operation time, and increased power production and efficiency, over a wide range of operating conditions.

摘要: A wireless power transfer system is disclosed. The wireless power transfer system includes a first converting unit configured to convert a first DC voltage of an input power to a first AC voltage. Further, the wireless power transfer system includes a contactless power transfer unit configured to receive the input power having the first AC voltage from the first converting unit and transmit the input power. Also, the wireless power transfer system includes a second converting unit configured to receive the input power from the contactless power transfer unit and convert the first AC voltage of the input power to a second DC voltage. Furthermore, the wireless power transfer system includes a switching unit configured to decouple the second converting unit from the contactless power transfer unit if the second DC voltage across the electric load is greater than a first threshold value.

摘要: A circuit is protected from sudden potential fluctuations that occur in a power ground. An in-vehicle protection apparatus includes a first Zener diode portion, a second Zener diode portion, a diode portion, and an intermediate conductive path. A voltage based on a power source is applied to the anode side of the diode portion. The intermediate conductive path is provided with a branch portion at one end, and forms a path between the cathode of the diode portion and the branch portion. The cathode of the first Zener diode portion is electrically connected to the branch portion and the anode of the first Zener diode portion is electrically connected to a power ground line. The cathode of the second Zener diode portion is electrically connected to the branch portion and the anode of the second Zener diode portion is electrically connected to a signal ground line.

摘要: A method and system for suppressing EMP-induced voltage surges due to detonation of a nuclear weapon at high altitude generating an EMP (HEMP) comprising E1, E2, and E3 component pulses. Surge protection assemblies are positioned intermediate a signal stream and a plurality of electronic device ports associated with a plurality of communication channels of networked devices. Single-channel multimode surge suppressing systems are combined to form multi-port multimode protection systems that connect directly to multiport networked devices supporting communication channels with mixed signals data and direct current power in Gigabit Ethernet networks supporting PoE. The surge suppressing systems mitigate differential and common mode induced interference and protect from overvoltage surges associated with E1, E2, and E3 components of the HEMP and mitigate the over-voltages to predetermined allowable levels within the predetermined time. The surge suppressing systems is interoperable with multimode PoE and support endpoint and midspan PoE devices of Gigabit networks.

摘要: Overvoltage protection device for a variable-speed and constant-frequency electrical energy generation system includes at least one DC current generator connected, via a DC current bus to the input terminals of at least one inverter and to at least one regulation module for regulating the output voltage of the at least one inverter. The device includes a circuit including at least one switch in series with a resistor, the circuit being connected between the input terminals of the at least one inverter, at least one measurement sensor for measuring the DC voltage across the input terminals of the at least one inverter, a control circuit connected to the at least one measurement sensor and able to receive a voltage measured by the at least one measurement sensor, compare the measured voltage against a threshold and command the closure of the at least one switch if the measured voltage is greater than the threshold, and command opening thereof if not.

摘要: A lighting driver (600, 800, 900) receives an AC Mains voltage (15), employs a rectifier (630, 830, 930) to produce a rectified voltage, and supplies an output current (665) to a lighting device (20) in response to the rectified voltage. A surge protection circuit (840, 940) of the lighting driver includes a voltage clamping device (MOV2) connected across the output of the rectifier, and a differentiator circuit (843/845/847/849, 943/945/947/949) configured to differentiate between a temporary voltage spike at the input to the rectifier and a loss of neutral connection to the lighting driver. When a temporary voltage spike is detected, the voltage clamping device is activated to clamp the rectified voltage until the temporary voltage spike ends. When a loss of neutral is detected, the voltage clamping device is latched into a disabled state until the AC Mains voltage input to the lighting driver is turned off.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a control system includes a chopper, a short-circuit unit, a voltage detector circuit, and a controller. The chopper reduces a direct current voltage between a converter connected to a stator in a wound induction machine and an inverter connected to a rotor in the wound induction machine. The short-circuit unit shorts a wire used for connection between the rotor and the inverter and the voltage detector circuit is to detect the direct current voltage. The controller causes driving the chopper and, at the same time, outputting from the inverter an alternating current over which a direct current component is superimposed when a voltage value exceeds a first predetermined value, and causes driving the short-circuit unit and, at the same time, halting the inverter when the voltage value exceeds a second predetermined value.
