摘要: A process for producing substituted ketones is disclosed comprising reacting an organic halide with a ketone which has a replaceable hydrogen atom on the carbon atom in the .alpha.-position to the carbonyl group, in the presence of an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide and at least one basic nitrogen catalyst such as certain primary amines, secondary amines, tertiary amines, quaternary ammonium salts or betaine-type quaternary ammonium salts.

摘要: An ingot of an Invar alloy is rolled in one direction into a plate, a number of slot holes are formed in this plate, and the plate is pressed into a curved form, thus providing a shadow mask of a color CRT. The slot holes of this shadow mask have longitudinal axes extending substantially at right angles to the rolling direction of the plate. The holes maintain their shapes after the plate has been pressed.

摘要: Novel polyprenyl compounds have the general formula: ##STR1## represents a cis-isoprene unit, n is an integer of 11-19, Z.sup.1 is --CH.sub.2 OH or a functional precursor thereof, and either one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom and the other is --S(O).sub.m R.sup.3 in which m is an integer of 0 (zero), 1 or 2 and R.sup.3 is a phenyl, naphthyl, pyridyl or thiazolinyl group or such group substituted with at least one lower alkyl and/or halogen substituent. The topic novel polyprenyl compounds can be synthesized from derivatives of the polyprenol which is obtainable from leaves of Ginkgo biloba or Cedrus deodara, among others, by extraction, if necessary followed by hydrolytic treatment. The novel polyprenyl compounds can be converted to mammalian dolichols or precursors thereof by reductive elimination of the --S(O).sub.m R.sup.3 group.

摘要: A pilferproof plastic closure comprising a top panel wall and a cylindrical skirt wall extending downwardly from the peripheral edge of the top panel wall. A circumferential weakening line extending circumferentially is formed in the skirt wall, and the skirt wall is divided into a main portion above the weakening line and a pilferproof bottom portion beneath it. An internal thread to be screwably fitted with an external thread formed on the mouth-neck portion of a container is formed on the inner surface of the main portion, and a plurality of radially inwardly projecting and circumferentially spaced engaging flaps are formed on the inner surface of the pilferproof bottom portion. An axial breaking line is formed in the pilferproof bottom portion which extends downwardly from the upper end of the pilferproof bottom portion but is non-existent in at least a greater portion of the lower part of the pilferproof bottom portion. At least a greater portion of the base edge of each of the engaging flaps is positioned in the aforesaid lower part where the axial breaking line does not exist.

摘要: A pilfer-proof plastic closure comprising a top panel wall and a cylindrical skirt wall extending downwardly from the peripheral edge of the top panel wall. The skirt wall has formed therein a circumferentially extending breakable line dividing the skirt wall into a main portion above the breakable line and a pilfer-proof bottom portion below it. The main portion has formed on its inner surface an internal thread and the pilfer-proof bottom portion has formed on its inner surface a plurality of radially inwardly projecting engaging flaps at circumferentially spaced positions. Each of said engaging flaps has a first portion extending from the inner surface of the pilfer-proof bottom portion tiltedly in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the closure at the time of mounting it on the mouth-neck portion of a container and a second portion bent with respect to the first portion and further extending from the end of the first portion. The first portion forms an angle .alpha. smaller than 90 degrees and the second portion forms an angle .beta. larger than the angle .alpha., both with respect to the tangent of the inner surface of the pilfer-proof bottom portion at the base edge of the engaging flap.

摘要: Disclosed is a bottle for a carbonated drink, which is formed by biaxial draw-blow molding of a polyester containing a surface active agent and being composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units, wherein at least the barrel wall portion of the bottle is molecularly oriented biaxially so that the density is at least 1.34 g/cm.sup.3 as measured at 20.degree. C., and the surface active agent is distributed in the surface of the barrel wall portion so that the contact angle of the surface of the barrel wall portion to water is not larger than 76.degree..In this bottle, the speed of transfer of carbon dioxide gas from the liquid phase of the drink to the gas phase at the time of opening the bottle is controlled to a very low level. Accordingly, occurrence of the cap missile phenomenon at the time of removing the cap from the bottle or reduction of the carbon dioxide content in the drink at the time of repeating sealing and opening of the bottle can effectively be prevented.

摘要: A peelable bonded structure having a peel strength of 0.05 to 5 kg/cm comprises a plurality of articles, at least one of which is made of metal, bonded together through a composite coating layer. The composite coating layer is composed of adjacent first and second coating layers at least one of which comprises (A) a modified olefin resin having a carbonyl group concentration of 0.01 to 200 milliequivalents per 100 g of the olefin resin and (B) a coating film-forming base resin at an (A)/(B) weight ratio of from 0.2/99.8 to 40/60 and has a multi-layer distribution structure having resin concentration gradients in the thickness direction such that the modified olefin resin (A) is distributed predominantly in the portion contiguous to the interface between the two coating layers and the base resin (B) is distributed predominantly in the opposite portion.
