Provided are an ethylene homopolymer having well-balanced properties of good heat resistance, good heat-sealability and good moldability, and its molded articles. The ethylene homopolymer is characterized in that the number of butyl branches per 100 methyl branches therein falls between 1 and 20, as measured through 13C-NMR, that its density, d (kg/m3), falls between 880 and 980, and that the density, d, and its melting point, Tm (° C.) , satisfy the conditions defined by the following formulae (1) to (3): Tm≧1.2×d−982 (980≧d≧925) (1), Tm≧0.6×d−430 (925>d≧915) (2), Tm≧0.16×d−28.4 (915>d≧880) (3). The ethylene homopolymer is molded into moldings.

Provided are an organic electroluminescence device which: can emit blue light having a short wavelength and a high color purity; and can be combined with any other light emitting compound to emit white light and a metal complex compound for realizing the device, and a material for an organic electroluminescence device. The metal complex is of a specific structure having a tridentate chelate ligand and an electron withdrawing group. The material for an organic electroluminescence device is formed of the metal complex compound. The organic electroluminescence device has an organic thin film layer formed of one or more layers including at least a light emitting layer, the organic thin film layer being interposed between a pair of electrodes. In the organic electroluminescence device, at least one layer of the organic thin film layer contains the metal complex compound, and emits light by applying a voltage between both the electrodes.

A method for forming a plating film, comprising the steps of: applying a plating film onto an object to be plated at a first current density for a predetermined period in a plating bath having a cathode capable of varying current and an anode and; and maintaining the object to be plated at a second current density lower than the first current density. According to the present invention, it is possible to improve solderability of a plating film for conventional lead-free solder by a simple method, which allows the productivity to further enhanced, resulting in a plating film with reduced production costs.
