Abstract:
A self-bonding, heat-vulcanizable silicone rubber composition comprising (a) an organopolysiloxane polymer of the formula RaSiO(4 a)/2, (b) a curing catalyst, and (c) an additive selected from cyanurates, isocyanurates, silyl-cyanurates and silylisocyanurates, where R is selected from monovalent hydrocarbon radicals and halogenated monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, a varies from 1.95 to 2.01. There may also be present in the above composition a process aid and a filler, as well as other ingredients.
Abstract:
A new class of silicone compounds of the formula, WHERE R, R1, R20, R21, R22, R23 and R24 are independently selected from hydrogen and hydrocarbon radicals, s varies from 0 to 1 and u varies from 0 to 20, and a is a whole number that varies from 0 to 2. These class of compounds are particularly useful for flocculating colloidal organic matter.
Abstract:
A silicone compound of the formula, WHERE L is selected from secondary amine groups and R10 groups, R1 and R2 are selected from hydrocarbon groups and R3 and R4 are selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbon groups and other amine groups. Further, n is a whole number that varies from 1 to 20 and a is a whole number that varies from 0 to 2. These aminofunctional silane compounds may be used as sewage flocculents.
Abstract:
A QUATERNARY AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE TYPE OF ION EXCHANGE RESIN IS USED IN A CYANOETHYLATION TYPE REACTION BETWEEN A BRANCHED CHAIN OLEFINIC NITRILE AND AN UNSATURATED ALCOHOL. THE CYANO(BRANCHED ALKOXY)ALKENE PRODUCED IS THEN REACTED WITH A SILANE BY AN SIH-OLEFIN ADDITION REACTION. THE CORRESPONDING AMINE IS MADE FROM THE NITRILE BY HYDROGENATION AT LOW PRESSURE. ONE OF THE SILANES PRODUCED BY THE ABOVE METHOD, 3-(2-METHYL-3-AMINOPROPOXY)PROPYLTRIMETHOXYSILANE, IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY VALUABLE COMPONENT IN DETERGENT RESISTANT POLISHES.
