Abstract: A method and apparatus for use in a mobile device telemetry system is disclosed. The method and apparatus relate to aspects in a mobile device protocol health monitoring system. Abstract: A method and a device for low-power acceleration detection in a stationary vehicle are provided. The method includes putting a telematics device into a sleep mode, performing a plurality of micro wakeups during which a plurality of accelerometer readings are captured. The method further includes sending the plurality of accelerometer readings over a network interface to a telematics server. The telematics device which carries out the method has a controller, memory, and network interface. Abstract: A method and a system for impact detection in a stationary vehicle are provided. The method includes putting a telematics device into a sleep mode and performing a first micro wakeup. In response to determining that a first value read from a sensor during the micro wakeup is greater than a noise threshold, increasing a frequency of the micro wakeups and a sampling rate of the sensor. The method also includes reading a second value from the sensor during a second wakeup, performing a regular wakeup, and sending the first and second values during the regular wakeup.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for asset tracking through specialized connectors and specialized casing units are provided. An example system includes an asset tracking device and a specialized casing unit to house the asset tracking device and to connect the asset tracking device to a communication port of an asset. The asset tracking device includes a communication port interface to interface with the communication port of the asset directly, and to interface with the communication port of the asset through the specialized casing unit. The asset tracking device further includes a controller to determine whether the asset tracking device is interfaced with the communication port of the asset directly or through the specialized casing unit, and when it is determined that the asset tracking device is interfaced with the communication port of the asset through the specialized casing unit, configure the asset tracking device to operate in a specialized operating mode.
