Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques for improving IMU-based gesture detection by a device using ultrasonic Doppler. A method may include detecting the onset of a gesture at a first device based on motion data obtained from an IMU of the first device. An indication of the detection of the onset of the gesture may be provided to a second device. Next, a first audio signal may be received from the second device. As a result, the gesture may be identified based on the motion data and the received first audio signal. In some cases, a first token encoded within the first audio signal may be decoded and the first token may be provided to a third coordinating device. A confirmation message may be received from the third coordinating device based on the first token provided and identifying the gesture may be further based on the confirmation message.

Abstract: A system and method of operating an audio visual device generating a virtual immersive experience is provided. The system may include an optical system and a display system received in a housing, and an audio output device operably coupled to the display system, the housing being coupled to a frame to be worn by a user. A sensing device may sense at least one of an ambient brightness level or an ambient noise level, and a control system and processor operably coupled to the optical system, the display system, the audio output device and the sensing device may, in response to an external command to transition between the virtual environment and the ambient environment, adjust at least one of a brightness level or a noise level of the virtual environment based on the sensed ambient brightness level and/or the sensed ambient noise level before executing the received external command.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed for visually rendering a requested scene based on a virtual camera perspective request as well as a projection of two or more video streams. The video streams can be captured using two dimensional cameras or three dimensional depth cameras and may capture different perspectives. The projection may be an internal projection that maps out the scene in three dimensions based on the two or more video streams. An object internal or external to the scene may be identified and the scene may be visually rendered based on a property of the object.
