    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a developing unit which supplies toner to an image carrier for developing a latent image. A toner cartridge is normally mounted on the developing unit and covers an opening thereof. In order to minimize toner spillage, a lug on the developing unit can cooperate with a stationary projection on the apparatus body to permit installation of the developing unit into the apparatus body only when the toner cartridge is mounted on the developing unit. Alternatively, a lug on the developing unit can cooperate with a stationary projection on the apparatus body for prohibiting mounting or removal of the toner cartridge only when the developing unit is installed in the apparatus. Alternatively, guide ribs are formed on both the developing unit and the toner cartridge for guiding the developing unit and toner cartridge for installation in the apparatus body only when the toner cartridge is mounted on the developing unit. Alternatively, a removal blocking member permits removal of the toner cartridge from the developing unit only when the developing unit is installed in the apparatus body. In a final alternative, a prohibiting member prohibits the removal of the developing unit from the apparatus body when the toner cartridge is not mounted to the developing unit, while a pivotal member and a projection member cooperate to permit the toner cartridge to be mounted on or removed from the developing unit only when the developing unit is installed in the apparatus body.

    摘要: A developing device for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member such as a photosensitive member for use in an electrophotographic copying machine and the like using magnetic toner particles includes a rotatable sleeve, a magnet roll disposed inside of the sleeve and a doctor blade pressed against the sleeve for charging and forming a thin film of toner particles to be used in developing the latent image. In one form, the blade is provided movably in parallel with the rotating axis of the sleeve. In another form, an electrically conductive brush is provided to remove residual charges from the sleeve after each developing operation. In a further form, the tip end of the blade is disposed between the two adjacent magnetic poles of the magnet roll. In a still further form, the blade is constructed to have a two-part structure.

    摘要: In a copy paper separating device for use in a transfer type electrophotographic copying machine which includes a conductive carrier member, preferably in the form a conductive endless belt extended between a pair of pulleys. The conductive carrier member is disposed in the periphery of the photosensitive member to which a copy paper is brought into contact for the transfer of a toner image formed on the photosensitive member. The potential of the conductive carrier member is maintained nearly at zero level during the first step of the separating operation; whereas, the potential of the carrier member is increased to a predetermined value of the polarity opposite to that of the toner image during the second step.

    摘要: A photosensitive member for use in an electrophotographic apparatus in which a bias potential is applied to the member during development. The member comprises a conductive support having at least one support edge and a photosensitive layer formed on the surface of the support and extending up to a point substantially coincident with the support edge. A tapered surface is formed at the extremity of the photosensitive layer adjacent to each support edge which extends from the top of the photosensitive layer to the support edge. The maximum angle between a tangent of the tapered surface and the surface of the conductive support is less then 45.degree. thereby preventing an edge effect by which a background smearing in the form of a black band may appear on copied paper obtained. Such a tapered surface can be easily formed through a vaporizing technique with a special masking in accordance with the present invention.

    摘要: A radio communication system minimizes power consumption against noises. The system includes a first radio terminal (10A) with a first transmitter (40A) for transmitting a first data indicative of a specific event, and a second radio terminal (40A) with a battery (14B) and a receiver (20B). The first radio terminal (10A) includes a first bit interpolator (32A) which inserts a check bit pattern of “01010101” at a predetermined cycle into one frame of the first data. The second radio terminal (10B) has a second power controller (60B) which intermittently activates the second receiver (20B) at predetermined intervals in order to receive the bit-interpolated data from the first transmitter. A check bit detector (24B) is included in the second radio terminal (10B) to detect the check bit pattern from within the bit interpolated data and to issue a stop signal immediately upon occurrence of that the check bit pattern fails to appear at said predetermined cycle within a predetermined time frame shorter than one frame length of the first data. In response to the stop signal, the power controller of the second radio terminal terminates a current receiving operation.
