摘要: The invention provides a compound recognizing the minor group of hydrogen bonds between base pairs and being capable of forming a covalent bond with bases. The inventive compound can recognize a specific nucleotide sequence and can strongly bind to adjacent bases via covalent bonding, to regulate the expression of a DNA with the nucleotide sequence. The invention provides a DNA alkylating agent comprising a compound represented by the general formula I: wherein R represents a lower amyl group or a polyamide group; and X represents nitrogen or CH.

摘要: An input unit indicates a departure point and a destination point on map information. A calculation unit extracts a plurality of routes each connected from the departure point to the destination point from the map information, and calculates a guidance demand degree of arbitrary points along each of the plurality of routes. A guidance demand degree is an evaluation value of the point based on a linearity of route, a complexity of route junction, and a change of route width. A route selection unit selects one route from the plurality of routes based on the guidance demand degree of each route. A guidance generation unit generates guidance information of the point decided to guide based on the guidance demand degree along the one route. A presentation unit presents the guidance information to a user.

摘要: A common dictionary management system that can reduce the work of data registration into dictionaries. Exchange data generated in any local dictionary of a natural language processing system is sent to the local dictionaries of other natural language processing systems automatically. A local dictionary management portion and a common dictionary management portion collect updated dictionary data from a plurality of local dictionaries and updating time information. The local dictionary management portion updates the common dictionary and the local dictionaries according to the collected dictionary data and the time information. The local dictionary management portion compares the information with the latest time on which dictionary data was distributed to the local user dictionaries with the updating time information of the dictionary data in the common dictionary to distribute the dictionary data of the common dictionary selected according to the result of the comparison, to the local dictionaries.

摘要: A structure for holding lenses in which they are inserted into a lens frame in an axial direction thereof for their mounting thereon, and in which a lens that is first inserted into the lens frame is fixed thereto by caulking a part of the lens frame against the lens, so that an enlargement in a radial direction of the lens frame is prevented. The lens frame has three through-holes in a circumferential direction with an equal space therebetween in which the through-holes form around an intermediate position thereof relative to the axial direction, a stepped surface on a first end opposite a second end from which the lens is inserted, and a partial caulking projection which forms inside each hole as a part of the lens frame. After the first lens is inserted from the second end into the lens frame, the partial caulking projection is thermally caulked against a periphery, of the lens, which is downstream relative to the direction in which the lens is inserted, so that the first lens is held between the stepped surface and the partial caulking projection.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting the position of a seat in a vehicle and position of eye of a sitter on the seat to thereby select an optimal position of a headrest on the basis of the detected position data. A plurality of data representing the seat position and the sitter's eye position are stored in a memory means to be read out for allowing a control means to performs arithmetic operation on the data as read out. On the basis of the result of the arithmetic operation, the positions of the headrests for a plurality of sitters can be selectively determined on the basis of the positions of the seat.

摘要: A method for removing sulfur dioxide from flue gases by simultaneous absorption and oxidation in an aqueous absorbent. An enclosed body of an aqueous liquid absorbent for the sulfur dioxide is provided and the flue gas is sparged into an upper portion of the liquid absorbent to form a first zone thereof. An oxygen-containing gas is introduced into a lower portion of the liquid absorbent to form a second zone of the liquid absorbent that is below the first zone of the liquid absorbent and which has an apparent density that is higher than that of the first zone. The oxygen-containing absorbent from the second zone is circulated to the first zone near the point of the flue gas introduction and an alkaline material reactive with the sulfur dioxide in the liquid absorbent is introduced into the body of liquid absorbent thereby fixing the sulfur dioxide in the liquid absorbent in the form of a sulfate. The sulfate is subsequently removed from the body of aqueous liquid absorbent. The method according to the invention can be carried out in a compact apparatus and achieves a high rate of desulfurization.
