[a] an epoxy resin; [b] an isocyanate curing agent; [c] an elastomeric toughening agent; [d] an oxazolidone cyclization catalyst.
Abstract:
An alkylation process is described. The alkylation process includes contacting a feed comprising a paraffin or an aromatic with an olefin feed in the presence of a liquid Lewis acid catalyst in an alkylation reaction zone under alkylation conditions to form a reaction mixture comprising alkylation products and the liquid Lewis acid catalyst. The liquid Lewis acid catalyst is the liquid reaction product of a donor molecule and a metal halide. The alkylation products are separated from the liquid Lewis acid catalyst and recovered.

The present description provides oligourea catalysts, a polar helical oligomeric strands, and methods for catalyzing reactions with polar helical oligomeric strands and oligourea catalysts. In particular, the invention relates to a polar helical oligomeric strand of at least 4 residues selected from the formula (I) and which can be used as a catalyst.
Abstract:
A non-aqueous metal catalytic composition includes (a) a complex of silver and an oxime comprising reducible silver ions in an amount of at least 2 weight %, (b) a silver ion photoreducing composition in an amount of at least 1 weight %, and (c) a photocurable component, a non-curable polymer, or a combination of a photocurable component and a non-curable polymer. This non-aqueous metal catalytic composition can be used to form silver metal particles in situ during suitable reducing conditions. The silver metal can be provided in a suitable layer or pattern on a substrate, which can then be subsequently subjected to electroless plating to form electrically-conductive layers or patterns for use in various articles or as touch screen displays in electronic devices.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hydrocracking catalyst comprising an acidic silica-alumina, an optional alumina, an effective quantity of at least one VIII Group metal component(s), an effective quantity of at least one VIB Group metal component(s) and an organic additive, wherein the organic additive is one or more selected from the group consisting of an oxygen-containing or nitrogen-containing organic compound, and the molar ratio of the organic additive to the VIII Group metal component(s) is 0.01-10. The present invention relates further to a process for producing the hydrocracking catalyst and use of the catalyst in a process for hydrocracking hydrocarbon oils. The hydrocracking catalyst provided according to the present invention shows a higher activity for aromatic hydrosaturating and ring-opening reaction, as compared with the prior art hydrocracking catalyst.
Abstract:
A modified ion exchange resin catalyst having an attached dimethyl thiazolidine promoter is disclosed. Also disclosed is a process for catalyzing condensation reactions between phenols and ketones, wherein reactants are contacted with a modified ion exchange resin catalyst having an attached dimethyl thiazolidine promoter. Also disclosed is a process for catalyzing condensation reactions between phenols and ketones that does not utilize a bulk promoter.
Abstract:
Provided are catalyst systems, processes for polymerizing one or more olefins, polymers resulting therefrom, and articles prepared from such polymers. The processes comprise contacting under polymerization conditions one or more olefin monomers, preferably propylene, with a catalyst system comprising a transition metal compound and an activator of the formula (1) or (2) as described herein. The polymer compositions described herein exhibit advantageously narrow composition distributions and high melting points in comparison to conventional polymers having the same comonomer content. The polymers described herein exhibit improved properties, e.g., pellet stability, impact properties, heat seal properties, and structural integrity in film and fabricated parts applications.
Abstract:
A method for efficiently producing L-2-amino-4-(hydroxymethylphosphinyl)-butanoic acid, useful as a herbicide, by a catalytic asymmetric synthesis reaction with a high asymmetric yield. The method includes a step in which a compound represented by the below formula (1) and a benzylamine are reacted in the presence of dehydrating agent, then the resulting mass is reacted with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of an asymmetric catalyst, followed by acid hydrolysis, further followed by elimination of a protective group. [chemical formula 1] (1) (where, R1 represents a C1-4 alkyl group).
