    Abstract: An illumination device including a base, at least one LED light source and a diffusing element is provided. The base has a supporting plane. The LED light source disposed on the supporting plane has a light emitting surface substantially parallel to the supporting plane. The diffusing element disposed on the supporting plane to cover the at least one LED light source. The diffusing element includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion located above the at least one LED light source. The second portion connected between the first portion and the base. An optical characteristic of the first portion is different from that of the second portion so that a non-continuous boundary is defined between the first portion and the second portion.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing an electrowetting display unit includes the following steps. A first substrate and a second substrate are provided. A first conductive layer is disposed on one side of the first substrate. A second conductive layer is disposed on one side of the second substrate. A polymer layer, which includes a siloxane containing a light-induced cross linkable group and a Si—H bond, is disposed on the first conductive layer. The molecular weight of the monomer of the siloxane is equal to or greater than 5000. A part of the polymer layer is exposed to a light so as to form a plurality of hydrophobic sections. A hydrophilic section is developed by treating a developing agent. The hydrophilic section and the plurality of hydrophobic sections form a pattern layer together. Polar liquid and non-polar liquid are disposed between the pattern layer and the second conductive layer.

    Abstract: An image module includes a photosensitive element and a light-screening structure disposed on the photosensitive element. The light-screening structure includes a light-transmitting layer. The light-screening structure also includes a first light-shielding layer disposed in the light-transmitting layer and having a first light passage portion. The light-screening structure further includes a second light-shielding layer disposed between the first light-shielding layer and the photosensitive element and having a second light passage portion. The light-screening structure includes a condensing structure disposed on the light-transmitting layer. The first light passage portion and the second light passage portion correspond to the photosensitive element. Light passing through the condensing structure produces a concentrated beam, and the apertures of the first light passage portion and the second light passage portion are respectively adjusted according to the widths of the concentrated beam at the first light-shielding layer and at the second light-shielding layer.

    Abstract: A biometric device includes an illuminating unit and an imaging module. The imaging module includes an optical angular selective structure and a sensing layer. The light selecting structure includes a micro lens array, a refractive layer and a light shielding layer. The refractive layer is disposed between the micro lens array and the light shielding layer. The micro lens array includes a plurality of lens unit units, and the light shielding layer has a plurality of light passing portions. The sensing layer defines multiple sensing regions which are spaced apart from each other. The light shielding layer is disposed between the refractive layer and the sensing layer. The sensing regions correspond to the light passing portions, respectively. An optical angular selective distance is defined between the light shielding layer and the sensing layer.
