Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method of communication are generally described herein. The STA may determine a portion of a channel occupied by an incumbent device. The STA may refrain from communication in a first subset of resource units (RUs) that overlap the portion of the channel occupied by the incumbent device. The STA may determine a combined RU that comprises two or more RUs of a second subset of RUs that do not overlap the portion of the channel occupied by the incumbent device. The STA may encode a physical layer convergence procedure protocol data unit (PPDU) for transmission in the combined RU. The PPDU may be encoded in accordance with joint coding across the RUs of the combined RU.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus of a wireless communication device includes control circuitry to cause receiver circuitry of the wireless communication device to switch between an on-mode and an off-mode. The apparatus also includes synchronizing circuitry to: perform a correlation on signals of a packet received by the receiver circuitry when in the on-mode to detect a pattern in the received signals, and cause the control circuitry to hold the receiver circuitry in the on-mode based on detection of the pattern in the received signals. The apparatus further includes demodulation circuitry to process additional signals of the packet received by the receiver circuitry when held in the on-mode.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced feedback for secure mode wireless communications. A device may send a first null data packet (NDP) to a second device, and identify a second NDP received from the second device. The device may identify a location measurement report (LMR) received from the second device, the LMR including a first channel response indicative of a first arrival time of the first NDP at the second device and a first phase shift associated with the first NDP. The device may generate a second channel response indicative of a second arrival time of the second NDP at the device and a second phase shift associated with the second NDP. The device may determine that the first channel response does not match the second channel response, and may identify an attempted attack.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced constellation shaping. A device may generate payload bits associated with a frame, wherein the payload bits comprise a first portion and a second portion. The device may send the first portion of the payload bits through a shaping encoder. The device may generate shaped bits from the shaping encoder. The device may determine a number of amplitude bits based on the shaped bits. The device may generate parity bits from the shaped bits and the second portion going through an low-density parity-check (LDPC) encoder. The device may select sign bits comprising the second portion and a first subset of the parity bits. The device may send the amplitude bits with the sign bits to a modulator before transmitting the frame to a first station device.
